Mark Ornstein Detroit serves as Vice President of School Operations at Second Mile Education, supporting operations across 27 schools and 600 plus staff. He works from Detroit with school leaders and operations teams on facilities, transportation, staffing coordination, and day to day campus continuity. His career spans two decades of executive work across public, private, and nonprofit education, including special education, dropout prevention, career and technical education, and online K to 12 curriculum. He believes clear expectations and consistent follow through reduce disruption and protect learning time. Outside of school operations, he enjoys travel, reading, pop culture, and Philadelphia sports, and he spends time with his family and his French bulldog, Daulton.
