His extensive governance experience also includes a board membership at the Canadian Heavy Oil Association, and he was the founder and CEO of Oilflow Solutions Inc. Moreover, his career includes substantial senior executive and R&D roles at Schlumberger Inc. With over three decades of experience in oil, gas, and clean energy, his expertise encompasses various operational, managerial, and developmental aspects. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several high-level positions, including CEO, vice president, and executive chairman, managing high-performance teams, directing successful research and development projects, and developing strategic plans for adopting innovative technologies. His capabilities also extend to shareholder relations and board governance, with a notable record in raising public and private equity funds. As Executive Chairman of WFI Inc., his leadership was crucial in steering the company through difficult economic times by implementing effective cost-saving measures while maintaining essential services and personnel. This leadership helped the company achieve significant growth from 2017 to 2018. His tenure at Quickthree Solutions Inc. was marked by the successful development and sale of the company’s Frac Sand Management technology in 2018. A fervent advocate for clean energy, his influential role at Carbon Engineering involved developing and marketing pioneering carbon dioxide capture and sequestration technology, which resulted in a profitable partnership with Summit Power. Joining SRC in 2013 as Vice-President of the Energy Division, he led the organization through notable growth and pioneered significant initiatives such as the Post Chops Well Test Centre and the Centre for the Demonstration of Emissions Reductions. Elevated to President and CEO in April 2019, he has significantly enhanced SRC’s research initiatives in oil and gas, backed by extensive grant funding. He is spearheading the development of North America's first vertically integrated Rare Earth Processing Facility and Saskatchewan's first microreactor.
