In 2012, while pursuing his undergraduate degree, Nicholas identified a critical need for enhanced public health initiatives in Detroit. This led him to establish Healthy Detroit, a nonprofit implementing innovative health programs. Under his leadership, the organization attracted over $100 million in funding, significantly bolstering its community health initiatives. By 2017, Healthy Detroit had grown to manage an annual budget of $15 million, a testament to his strategic acumen and resource mobilization skills.
Building on his nonprofit success, Nicholas ventured into public policy consulting in 2017, founding Healthy Communities in Washington, D.C. His firm focused on providing policy guidance and strategic advice to significant political figures, including Speaker Paul Ryan, Senators Rand Paul and Tim Scott, and the White House's Office of American Innovation.
Nicholas also established Tera Strategies in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This management consulting firm advises many clients, from family offices to large corporations, on optimizing their operational effectiveness and achieving strategic goals.
