Vice President of HR in Government Contracting U.S. Intelligence Sector
Nicole Metz has over 30 years of experience in Human Resources, working with Fortune 500 companies, small government contractors, and for 8 years running her own consulting firm. She served as Senior Director of Talent Management Intelligence Group for a corporation in Chantilly, Virginia, where she partnered with senior leadership on talent management and business strategies. Her responsibilities included coaching, personnel development, new manager assimilation, career management, redeployment, diversity and inclusion, and succession planning.
She contributed to performance management by setting goals and expectations, guiding organizational design, shaping proposals, developing capabilities, and managing employee relations. Her work also involved reports, metrics, redeployment, and Reductions in Force. She managed a team of staffing and talent managers and created the company’s first redeployment guide, which became a valuable resource for employees seeking new opportunities.
Before this role, she spent eight years with a corporation in McLean, Virginia, starting as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and later serving as Director of Talent Development & Management. She developed program managers and IT professionals, delivered program management training, and was honored with President’s Club recognition three years in a row.
Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions with a communications company in Reston, Virginia, and a technology firm in Germantown, Maryland. She began her career at a global corporation in Federal Sales and later transitioned into training, where she taught more than 750 new representatives, achieved 100% student satisfaction for two consecutive years, and trained top sales performers. She advanced to Sales Training Program Manager and served on the People Development Board.
Her accomplishments include the Aspire Award, Business Unit General Managers Award, People First Award, Strategic Vision Award, recognition as an Outstanding Performer, and five President’s Club awards.
She is a member of SHRM and ASTD and has volunteered in youth sports, STEM programs, and church activities, as well as serving as a driver for cancer patients. A former competitive athlete, she graduated with honors from Marymount University. She enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her husband, a service-disabled veteran, and their four children.
