Olusesan Afara is a highly respected personnel specialist, officer recruiter, financial educator, and real estate investor. His career, marked by outstanding contributions to the U.S. Navy and achievements in financial education and real estate investing, reflects a journey of dedication and excellence. Enlisting in the Navy in July 2004, he embarked on a distinguished military journey marked by impressive achievements. From 2006 to 2007, he served as a liaison at the Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center in Little Creek, VA, earning a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his exceptional service.
His career in the Navy involved service at multiple commands, and his sterling performance led to his promotion to Chief Petty Officer (Senior Enlisted) in September 2017. Shortly after that, he became part of the leadership team on board the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). He was pivotal in guiding the Personnel Office to achieve an extraordinary outcome in a surprise Field Examination Group Audit in 2019. His unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership skills were further recognized when he was awarded the National Chaplain Recruiter of the Year for 2021 and 2022.
