Paul Wiedmaier
Paul Wiedmaier is a committed Project Engineer with four years of experience managing civil and renewable energy construction projects worth over $90 million. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and has completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. His work involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance from planning through completion.
For the past three years, Paul has been with Weiss Construction/Weiss Renewables in St. Louis, Missouri. As an Assistant Project Manager, he handles RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications, participates in site visits to verify progress, and addresses on-site challenges. He coordinates engineering, procurement, and construction activities, calculates bulk material quantities for procurement, and tracks subcontractor invoices, change orders, and purchase orders to ensure compliance with contracts.
In his role as Project Engineer at the same company, Paul worked closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to manage a $90 million project, ensuring smooth communication and resolving issues promptly. He assisted in developing Construction Work Plans with attention to safety, sequencing, and resource allocation, built an Excel-based asset management and maintenance tracker, verified equipment against specifications, and managed plant security access for employees and subcontractors.
Previously, Paul was a Project Engineer at JS Vig Construction in Plymouth, Michigan, where he assisted with scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination. His work included preparing and reviewing contracts, RFIs, and RFCOs, performing quantity takeoffs, and helping develop bids for projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million.
Earlier, as a Field Engineer Intern at Motor City Electric in Dearborn, he contributed to operations at the Ford Truck Plant by designing cable tray systems, creating wire tags, reviewing technical diagrams, and working with engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment.
In his senior year at Wayne State, he was part of the winning team in the Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge, marking the university’s first victory in the competition. Outside of work, Paul Wiedmaier volunteers at Holy Family Parish in Novi, Michigan, stays active, enjoys golf, traveling, and reading, and speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish, holding dual citizenship in the United States and Brazil.
