Reed Cagle, a distinguished consultant in the oil and energy sectors, uses his extensive experience to optimize and innovate operations, especially advocating for horizontal drilling techniques. Born in Clarksville, Texas, in 1962, he has a deep-rooted connection to Texas, a state he continues to hold dear despite his broad travels.
Cagle's life partner, Donna, has been his wife for over three decades. The couple has raised a son together and has navigated life's phases as a tight-knit family. They lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from 1999 but ultimately returned to Plano, Texas, in 2017, where they have made their permanent home. His career trajectory began at Kinlaw Oil Corporation in 1986, where he was initially drawn to the oil industry. His zeal and dedication to understanding the business led to rapid advancements within the company.
In 1996, propelled by a vision to create his path, Reed left Kinlaw to establish his venture in Dallas, Texas. By the following year, he had founded Heartland Energy Inc., later known as HEI, where he served as president and CEO. His leadership involved creating synergies with various industry experts, focusing on ventures that explored and developed resources in oil, gas, and minerals.
In 2006, Cagle ventured into the drilling services arena by collaborating with Midcontinent Drilling. He invested in constructing a 2000-horsepower drilling rig, which greatly expanded the company’s capability to undertake deep drilling operations up to 20,000 feet.
His entrepreneurial pursuits took a significant turn in 2011 when he ventured into the mining industry. He started with a mining concession in Oregon that successfully mined about 89,000 ounces of gold. His activities also extended to Chile, where he significantly contributed to the financial management and daily operations of a gold and copper processing facility in Copiapo. There, Reed developed a revolutionary process for detoxifying and refining metals, which markedly enhanced the environmental safety of mining operations.
Reed Cagle currently resides in Plano, Texas, where he continues to provide his consulting expertise to various oil and energy companies, mainly focusing on midsize independents. His consultancy also extends to other industries, as seen in his work with a prominent landscaping company serving East and Central Texas.
