Sam Wyly Businessman started his first business venture, the University Computing Company, on the campus of Southern Methodist University. At only 28 years old, he had created his first company with $1000 and an idea to provide computing services to universities, oil companies, and military contractors. In 1968, the company went public and made Sam a millionaire. This would be the first of six companies Sam nurtured to valuations over one billion dollars.
