Steve G. Smithwick is the President and CEO of both Master Wall and Creative Wall Products, Inc., companies specializing in engineered exterior wall systems designed to enhance aesthetics and environmental performance. Smithwick founded Master Wall in 1987 and Creative Wall Products in 2005, aiming to provide the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries with high-quality products backed by knowledgeable customer service and competitive pricing. With nearly four decades of experience, Smithwick has become an expert in building materials, particularly exterior insulation and finishing systems. His work has brought innovative wall solutions to residential and commercial projects across the Southeast and beyond. One of his key contributions is the Continuous Insulation and Finish System (CIFS®), which Smithwick actively promotes. It improves thermal efficiency by addressing energy loss from thermal breaks, a common issue in traditional stud and joist systems. Throughout his career, Smithwick has remained guided by his Christian faith, which he credits as the foundation of his personal and professional success. His faith is reflected in his company’s mission statement: “To seek God’s guidance in all decisions and to give Him glory for any results.” He encourages his employees to strive for excellence in both their careers and personal lives, fostering a culture of high standards and integrity. As a result, Master Wall has become a national leader in Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS), offering products such as air/water barriers, coatings, and adhesives. Smithwick began after attending Southern Technical Institute (now Kennesaw State University) in Marietta, GA. In 1987, he recognized an opportunity to provide the industry with innovative siding products that lowered installation costs for commercial exteriors. His company’s engineered solutions offered affordable alternatives to traditional materials like metal, wood grain, and stucco. The success of Master Wall paved the way for Creative Wall Products, which expanded the range of engineered wall systems. Both companies offer EIFS products in various finishes, such as textured stucco, and specialty options like wood grain, brick, and stone. These products are energy-efficient when paired with thermal and moisture protection components. Smithwick has also played an essential role in the EIFS industry, having served as Vice President and President of the Board of Directors for the EIFS Industry Member Association (EIMA). His advocacy for thermally efficient and moisture-resistant products continues to shape the industry’s future. Beyond his professional success, Smithwick is deeply committed to his community in Fortson, GA, where he lives with his wife, Donnie.
