John Plaskett began his career at Dell Technologies in 2010 as a Storage Expert and advanced to Technical Sales Manager within three years. During this time, he coached and trained sales professionals, managed recruitment and onboarding processes, and developed team members through structured performance evaluations and ongoing feedback. He designed and implemented territory management plans that optimized resources and encouraged collaboration. In 2017, he was promoted to Enterprise Inside Sales Director, leading 48 sellers and sales leaders while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared success. Later, he served as a Data Center Sales Executive and Account Executive, consistently exceeding sales targets, managing key accounts, and developing solutions tailored to meet his clients' needs.
Throughout his career, he has received several awards recognizing his leadership and performance, including the FY22 Director of the Year award, Manager of the Year in FY19, and multiple quarterly and half-year honors. He was also a member of Dell’s President’s Club in 2019, celebrating top achievement in sales excellence. His certifications include CML-Certified Storage Architect and VTSP Certification. He has completed professional programs, including the Dell Leadership Development Program, RSDU Program, Dale Carnegie/Effective Communications and HR Program, and the Nancy Graves Executive Communications Program. These accomplishments underscore his commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
Outside of his professional career, he has been actively involved in volunteer work and community service. He participated in Push America, now called Journey of Hope - The Ability Experience, as one of 50 men who cycled across the United States to raise awareness for people with disabilities. The group covered more than 8,000 miles and raised over $500,000 for the cause. He continues to volunteer at community events and is a member of Christ the King Church in Nashville. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, hiking, and kayaking.
