• Launched and managed VEDC’s National African American Small Business Loan Fund (NAASBLF) – a $30 million loan fund - including overseeing lending activity across all markets (Tri-State, L.A. and Chicago), managing relationships with partner organizations, and supporting the lending team to move applications to completion. Efforts resulted in an active pipeline of 29 approved loans and 19 funded loans totaling $2,900,000 and $1,400,000 respectively.
• Developed the framework for NAASBLF’s comprehensive pre-loan Technical Assistance program and negotiated the contracts with outside consultants for service delivery.
• Led the expansion of VEDC’s National African American Small Business Loan Fund to Baltimore, Maryland. Drafted memo to VEDC Board for approval of expansion and cultivated relationships with stakeholders in Baltimore to secure referrals to the program. Efforts resulted in 6 referrals totaling approximately $500,000 in potential loan dollars in less than one month.
• Administered the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Scholars pipeline. Conduct in-take, pre-screening and loan packaging for all program applicants from the National and Miami cohorts. Maintained and shared monthly Scholars reports for internal and Goldman Sachs stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Assisted the Vice President of National Strategic Initiatives in drafting and securing an agreement with a venture capital firm to launch the Micro-Equity fund – a $1,000,000 fund aimed at providing equity capital to minority-owned businesses.
