I am a technologist with a deep understanding of architecting world-class mobile products and solutions. With over 20 years of experience in telecom industry as an engineer, programmer, analyst, researcher, architect, trainer, product manager and technical marketer, I have seen highs and lows of this industry. I am a skeptic and often challenge conventional wisdom. I was a part of the team responsible for the first 3G network rollout in Japan and Europe. Since then I have worked extensively in mobile technologies like 3G, 4G and now 5G. I am also widely recognized as an evangelist for new technologies, often talking about them in various industry fora, conferences and blogs. I also often separate technology from hype and real world applications & services. Throughout my career, I have been involved with both innovative start-ups and established, public industry leaders from chipset and handset manufacturers to network equipment vendors, test and measurement (T&M) companies, small cells and Wi-Fi companies, research organisations, analyst firms and consulting companies. At present, I am working as a Strategic Marketeer with a young, fast-moving and innovative company called Parallel Wireless that is on a mission to make any cellular as easy and as cost-effective as Wi-Fi. Prior to this, I was a Technical Programme Manager at techUK for over a year focussing on Communications Infrastructure, UK Spectrum Policies and on the Satellite Applications & Services programme. I was also the CTO council leader exploring open source software (OSS) , Smart Cities, Intelligent homes and Robotics and Automation. I have also been a regular speaker at many small and international conferences and events. My 3G4G blog (http://blog.3g4g.co.uk/) is one of the most well known independent mobile technology blog worldwide. You can also follow me on twitter@zahidtg.

Since the inception of EXplanoTech, I have been the face of the company. Supported by an able team, my management duties are very limited. This gives me an opportunity to be an all-round individual. My work is divided into the following four functions : 1. Company Management : I oversee the day to day running of the company, interviews and hiring process, appraisals and annual reviews, policies and decision making process, business development and contract negotiations, chairing meetings and help formulate business strategies, etc. 2. Head of Training Department : This has been the main area of my focus this year. My extensive technical knowledge of 3GPP specifications and current market trends is crucial in deciding which technology areas we should focus on and prepare trainings for. I actively participate in the development and preparation of the training material, occasionally also helping deliver courses, running workshops, etc. 3. Technical Project Management : This was my main responsibility until the last year; feasibility and planning for internal and client projects, recruiting the right technical resources, ensuring deliveries meet KPI's, deadlines and customers' expectations. Projects ranged from a single person project to mid - sized projects. I am still hands on with programming and spend between 10-20 hours a week doing C++ programming. 4. other Networking and Social activities : In order to market EXplanoTechs name and capabilities, I regularly participate as a speaker/analyst/panellist in international conferences. Participation in conferences help me understand the big picture and technology trends that get fed back to the company and our clients and help formulate the technology strategy for the future. I have been active on Twitter and LinkedIn for the last many years, marketing our brand and at the same time discussing technologies and other technical news.
