另一種是 GUI(Graphic User Interface),除了 UI 的工作以外,還要根據品牌風格直接做出視覺頁面。

Or friendlily? Will the front page include a catalog of your project? Headline A headline is the largest title on your front or home page. It is basically a powerful greeting to anyone who comes to your UX designer portfolio website. Similarly, crafting a unique and impressive tagline is a part of attracting your audience! So, make sure to craft a strong headline that describes your personality as a UX designer. About me section The “about me” section in your user experience design portfolio is where the reader expects to know more about your background. In this section, you can include: A summary of who you are, what you do, your accomplishments, and what you are interested inExternal links to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Github, Dribbble, or other sitesYour education and work experience(s)More personal stories, details, or photos you want to share Contact information Always make sure your contact information is accessible on all pages. Add a simple call-to-action and make it easier for them to reach out and say hi. Resume (optional) Your UX portfolio website is often included in your LinkedIn page, resume, and other application portals that a potential client and hiring manager reach. Likewise, it would be convenient if a resume is available on your UX portfolio website directly. Works UX design projects are the center of your portfolio website. It is definitely not easy to organize the qualitative materials you had, let alone select the highlight and focus on the essence. In the next part of this article, we will discuss in more detail what components to be included when adding UX design projects to your portfolio. Other projects (optional) If you have graphic design work or case studies, hiring managers might be glad to see them. Give them a separate section for those who want to know more about your skills. How to Include UX Design Projects to a PortfolioAs mentioned before, UX design projects are the key element in your UX portfolio. Since UX design is a long and complex process, many might wonder how we can keep the portfolio brief and not include too many unnecessary details We’ve organized a template for you to consider when creating your UX design project. Here are the things that must be included in your UX design portfolio:Project description, scope and timelineYour role and list of collaboratorsProblem and methodsPrimary and secondary researchUser researchUser persona and user journey mapDesign iterations (sketches, wireframes, low and high-fidelity prototypes)Final productConclusion and quantified resultsLessons Project description, scope, and timeline First, in the summary section, briefly explain the project: what is the product? What does it provide? What is unique about it? Explain the scope of your project and the timeline of your involvement as well as how much time you spent on it. Your role and list of collaborators Be specific with your contribution in a project. Clarify the size of your team, who you collaborated with, your role, and your responsibilities. Problem and methods Next, state the problem you were trying to solve. Make your problem statement short and precise. You can also state your project goal.Your design method is the process, tools, and methodology you’ve adopted to solve your problem. List the design steps you took, but specify why. For example, perhaps you’re trying to validate a hypothesis and decided to start the first round of user testing to confirm your assumptions. Primary and secondary research Recap the research information you collected to share the stats, facts, and figures that are important to know. User research Following up on your UX designer portfolio, when recapping the user research, remember to explain your goals. For instance, you may have conducted surveys or user interviews. What is the essential information you want to know? What are the most important questions you’ve asked to reach the goal? These explanations can be short, but it needs to address insights and highlights instead of simply presenting unsorted information. Moreover, it’s ideal to use numbers to support your findings. User persona and user journey map Next, showcase the persona your team has made. Rather than copy-pasting the image of your persona and UJM, what you can do is make your UX design projects even more crucial to highlight the most crucial highlight that is discovered. For example, provide more explanation on key pain points and touchpoints in your user journey map. This way, any reader can quickly get a gist of what the map is illustrating and the objective of your design solution. Design iterations (sketches, wireframes, low and high-fidelity prototypes) Present the tools you’ve used to design the product. That may include messy sketches, simple wireframes that are used for discussion, and low fidelity models for establishing user flow. Final product Showcasing your final product is a tricky part as well. A great hack to do this is to choose a mock-up template that is clear and simple. Conclusion and quantified results Finally, conclude your UX design project by stating the efficiency of your design solution. Why is this a successful project? Moreover, if you have conducted user testing, use quantified testing results to explain the success of your final product. Lessons If you want to sum up your project, adding a “lesson learned” or takeaway summary is a good option. It explains your self-reflecting ability and gives you chances to improve on future UX design projects.Best UX Designer Portfolio WebsitesBelow we have compiled a list of 5 platforms that you can use to kickstart your UX designer portfolio creation. 1.Cake Cake’s free online portfolio maker is ideal for creative professionals and UX designers like you. When outlining your UX design portfolio website, be empathetic. Imagine yourself as a hiring manager or a potential client. What do you expect to see in a UX project? Making a UX designer’s portfolio is like making another UX design project. Keep your reader in mind to plan out the best presentation. 💡 Share the details, but only the best ones. You may be excited to finally present your UX work on your portfolio website. However, be restrained when you describe your project. It is tempting to write a long and rambling paragraph. Nevertheless, most viewers have limited attention and can lose interest quickly. 💡 Make your UX project case study visually appealing. When presenting your works, visual materials are eye-catching. As a result, whenever possible, make your point visible. In addition, you have spent so much time on UI prototypes. Why not present them more clearly? 💡 Describe and explain the process without using jargons. Your UX designer portfolio website is not meant for senior UX designers and specialists. Your audience is probably not familiar with the complex technical jargon. Use a professional voice that is approachable and avoid excessive self-promotion. 💡 Be careful with stock images. Many UX designers use sites such as Freepik or Unsplash to add visual elements or mock-up their designs. However, when using stock images, pay attention to the consistency of your portfolio style as well as the attribution.Cake is your all-in-one career solution. The Ultimate Cover Letter Format & Structure Guide (+ Examples)

A cover letter (sometimes also referred to as a “letter of motivation” or “job application letter”) is a formal document sent along with your resume or CV. It provides additional information besides what is written in your resume to express yourself further in a more personal way. Recruiters can tell a lot about you from your cover letter. Aside from the information you disclose through the content of your cover letter, recruiters can also infer your soft skills, such as how attentive to detail you are, how good you communicate through written language, and more through how you format your cover letter. When writing a professional cover letter, you need to pay attention to the following elements: Cover letter format (i.e., structure, header, layout)Cover letter style (block or semi-block)Cover letter line spacingetc. This article will guide you through everything you need to know about writing a convincing cover letter. Keep reading for more! Table of Contents What Is a Cover Letter and Why Does It Matter? Mastering the Cover Letter Structure: How to Write an Effective One Expert Tips on Formatting Your Cover Letter Professionally Cover Letter Template Real-Life Examples Common FAQs about Cover Letter What Is a Cover Letter and Why Does It Matter? A cover letter accompanies your resume or CV when you apply for a job as a tool to promote or market yourself through written communication to the recruiter before you meet them face-to-face. There is a general cover letter format for job applications that you can always follow and never go wrong with. However, it is still essential to remember that different employers might have different specific requirements for applications. So, make sure to read the job posting carefully. Depending on the requirements, you will need different cover letter formats, such as: Email cover letter format: Cover letters are written as the email content when sending an application via email.Digital or electronic cover letter format: Cover letters are saved as a DOC or PDF file and sent as email attachments.Printed cover letter format: Cover letters are printed out as a hard copy along with a printed resume to a mailing address. Mastering the Cover Letter Structure: How to Write an Effective One Recruiters usually will read your cover letter before your resume. Therefore, creating a good first impression with a properly written cover letter format is essential. This part will show you what elements should be included in a proper cover letter format. 1) Date written The date is a small yet important aspect of the cover letter header format and deserves as much attention as any other detail. Depending on the country you are in, the date format may vary. However, the most common format is [Month] [Day], [Year]. 2) Contact information In printed or digital cover letter formats, the sender's and receiver's contact information is typically placed at the top of the cover letter header. However, including your contact information at the bottom, along with your name and signature, is common for email cover letters. Regardless of the format, ensure you use a professional email address and provide accurate contact details.Cover Letter Example #1 (Send Through Email)Katherine Nguyen(+1)-333-0987 | [email protected] Cover Letter Example #2(Printed/Digital Cover Letter)Kevin Nguyen(+1)-333-0977[email protected] Cover Letter Example #3(Printed/Digital Cover Letter)Richard JenkinsHead of HR at HHH Company(+1)-992-9922[email protected] 3) Salutation or opening greeting You should directly address the person reviewing your application for this position. The person could be the hiring manager or the head of the department. “Dear” and “Hello” are the safest greetings. They sound friendly yet maintain a professional tone. If the name of the hiring manager is known, use: “Dear Mr. [Their Name],”. If only the team or department is known, use: “Dear Hiring Manager,” or “Dear [Name of Department] Department Team,”. If the recipient is unknown, use: “Dear Sir/Madam,”. You might think, "How about using 'To Whom It May Concern'?" Surprisingly, this salutation is no longer considered appropriate for application letters as it is needlessly formal and doesn't directly address a specific person.💡Pro Tip: To know the hiring manager in charge of the position, you can refer to the job post uploader or do some research on the company website. You could also ask for a connection that you have in the company (if any). 4) Opening paragraph The goal of the opening paragraph is to explain to the reader who you are and why you're writing this letter. Think of it as the first introduction about yourself that will immediately grab the hiring manager’s attention and stand out from the crowd. If written boringly, they may never even get to the second paragraph, and you don’t want that. Cover Letter Example #3 - Opening ParagraphI am Katherine Nguyen - a registered nurse seeking to acquire the nurse practitioner position at ENTC Hospital. My 8 years of experience in relevant roles make me the right fit for this role. 💡Pro Tip:State an accomplishment to show your confidence, determination, and interest in the position using phrases like “I believe that…”, “I am very interested in…”, “I am writing to express my strong interest in…”, etc.5) Middle or body paragraph Here comes the most crucial section for job applications in the cover letter format. In this part, explain why you think you're qualified for the role in terms of expertise, work experience, and skills. You're selling your candidacy to the reader, so it's essential to be as specific and concise as possible. Here are some extra tips to remember when crafting the body paragraph of your cover letter: Make strong connections between your qualifications and the job requirements.Use several shorter paragraphs or bullet points instead of one large text block.Avoid repeating all information that’s already mentioned in your resume. You can choose the proudest achievements or most relevant experience you want to highlight and invite recruiters to open your resume for further details. Here's an example of a cover letter body paragraph: Cover Letter Example #4 - Body ParagraphI have engaged in various industries, including technology, education, and beauty. I am detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and diligent, with nearly 6 years of experience in Content Marketing, SEO Writing, and Social Media Management. My primary job responsibilities include: Producing SEO-friendly content to publish on relevant media channels such as the company website, LinkedIn, and Instagram.Conducting keyword research and leveraging SEO practices to optimize the article writing.Managed multiple social media accounts to promote the company branding and products. In addition, I have a background in Digital Marketing and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and an MBA from Western State University. In terms of language ability, I am a native English speaker with professional working proficiency in Korean and basic French. 6) Closing paragraph In the closing paragraph of your cover letter, emphasize the value you can bring to the organization. Additionally, expressing enthusiasm about joining the team can highlight your genuine interest in the role. Don’t forget to thank the hiring manager for their time and consideration. Here’s an example of how to craft a compelling closing paragraph for your cover letter: Cover Letter Example #5 - Closing Paragraph I have had a strong passion for writing since I was little. I've also been a big fan of Beauty Magazine and the impact that it brings to young girls for many years. Therefore, I hope that I can become a part of the team and contribute to the expansion of Beauty Magazine into the Asian market. Thank you for taking the time to review my application. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to your response. 7) Sign-off Now, it's time to finish with a professional sign-off. You can end your cover letter with a formal complimentary closing, followed by your signature. Since you're writing a formal document, avoid using casual language and tone like “Yours truly,” “With love,” or “Take care.” For an email/digital cover letter format, you should put your contact info below your signature. For a printed cover letter format, make sure your signature is handwritten. Examples of appropriate sign-offs to use in a standard cover letter format: Sincerely,Best,Kind regards,Best regards,Best wishes,With gratitude,Respectfully,Cordially, Expert Tips on Formatting Your Cover Letter ProfessionallyBelow are five key elements to keep in mind for crafting a well-formatted cover letter: Font Just like your CV or resume, it’s important to choose a professional font for your cover letter.Do'sUse standard fonts such as Arial, Helvetica, Roboto, Times New Roman, or Verdana.Keep the font size between 10.5 and 12 points for readability.Don'tsAvoid using decorative or fancy fonts that may appear unprofessional and difficult to read. Spacing Proper spacing is crucial for creating a clean and professional layout. It helps employers quickly grasp key information and makes the cover letter visually appealing. How to format spacing correctly: Leave a blank line between sections (e.g., date, recipient’s address, salutation, body paragraphs, closing, and sign-off).Use business letter spacing, typically 1 or 1.15 line spacing. Stark Common FAQs about Cover Letter After reading this article, you might still have some questions or concerns. That's perfectly normal, and we’re here to help! Below, you'll find an FAQ section addressing some of the most common questions people have when crafting their cover letters. 1) How do I write my availability in a cover letter? When writing your availability in a cover letter, keep it clear and concise. Include this information in the closing paragraph of your letter. Include your availability in the closing paragraph so the employer knows immediately if your timeline aligns with their needs. You might phrase it as "I am ready to start right away" or "I am prepared to begin work on (specific date)”. This helps the employer evaluate your fit and demonstrates your straightforward communication skills — an attribute that many companies value. 2) How do I include salary expectations in a cover letter? If the job posting requests salary expectations, it's best to address this directly but carefully in your cover letter. A good approach is to provide a range while also expressing your flexibility. You can mention your expected salary range while expressing your openness to negotiation. For example: "Based on my experience and the industry standard, my expected salary is within the range of (amount) to (amount). However, I am flexible and open to discussing this further." Employers appreciate when candidates are honest but flexible, indicating a collaborative spirit. 3) How do I sign an electronic cover letter? Signing an electronic cover letter is simpler than you might think. A simple digital signature will do—just end with "Sincerely," followed by your full name. If you want to take it a step further, you can add an electronic signature image, but it’s optional. The key is consistency and professionalism. Employers care more about the content of your letter and the impression it leaves, so focus on delivering a strong message rather than worrying too much about how you sign it. 4) What is the main goal of a cover letter? Beyond what’s in your resume, the cover letter is a warm touch – your opportunity to introduce yourself to a potential employer. It goes beyond the bullet points of your resume by showing your enthusiasm for the position and highlighting specific skills that make you the ideal candidate. Think of it as a narrative that ties together why you’re interested in the job and how your background makes you a great fit. The cover letter adds depth, allowing you to explain the "why" behind your application and tailor your message to the company’s needs — something that can make a huge difference in competitive job markets. 5) What should a cover letter include? A good cover letter should include several key elements: an introduction that expresses your interest in the position, a summary of relevant experience or skills, and why you are interested in the company. Finish with a call to action, like expressing your interest in an interview, and sign off professionally. The letter should also be tailored to the specific job description, showing that you’ve taken the time to understand the company’s needs. 6) Are cover letters becoming obsolete? Not exactly! Cover letters are evolving rather than becoming obsolete. In some industries—such as tech—cover letters might be less common, but in fields like consulting, education, or creative roles, they still hold considerable value. A well-written cover letter can convey your enthusiasm and show that you’re not just mass-applying for jobs. Even if it’s optional, submitting a thoughtful cover letter can make you stand out in a competitive job market. It’s all about knowing your audience. 7) Do employers read cover letters? Yes, many employers do read cover letters, especially when they are narrowing down candidates for an interview. A well-crafted cover letter can distinguish you from other applicants and show that you have taken the time to understand the company’s needs. While some recruiters may focus mainly on your resume, others will appreciate the added context a cover letter provides, especially if it addresses how your experience aligns with their specific challenges. 8) Should I use AI to write a cover letter? Using AI to draft a cover letter can be a helpful starting point, especially if you're unsure where to begin. AI tools can generate a structure and suggest content. However, to make a genuine impact, personalize the draft to reflect your authentic voice and specific experience. Hiring managers are skilled at spotting generic letters, so adding a personal touch—highlighting your enthusiasm for the role and how your skills meet the company’s needs—is essential. 9) Should I include a cover letter if the application says "optional"? If the cover letter is "optional," consider submitting one if you genuinely want the job. A well-written cover letter can show your enthusiasm and provide details that your resume may not fully convey. It's an opportunity to distinguish yourself from other candidates, especially in competitive markets like Singapore or Taiwan. Unless you're under tight time constraints, submitting a cover letter when optional can only help your chances. 10) What should I write in a cover letter if I don’t have work experience? If you don’t have work experience, focus on the skills and experiences you do have—such as your education, internships, volunteer work, or relevant projects. Highlight the transferable skills you’ve developed, like teamwork, problem-solving, or leadership, and tie them to the requirements of the job. Employers are often more interested in your potential and your enthusiasm for the field. 11) What should I write in a cover letter if I’m a career changer? As a career changer, your cover letter is the perfect place to explain why you’re making the switch and what makes you a strong candidate for this new path. Emphasize transferable skills from your previous roles—like communication, problem-solving, or management—that are relevant to the new industry. Show that you’re enthusiastic about the change, and mention any steps you’ve taken to bridge the gap, such as courses, certifications, or projects. Explain why you are interested in the new field and how your previous experience brings a unique perspective. For instance, if you're transitioning into IT from a retail background, emphasize your problem-solving abilities, customer service experience, and adaptability. Show that you've done your homework and convey your enthusiasm for embracing new challenges in this career path. 12) What should I write in a cover letter if I’m a returning parent? If you’re a returning parent, acknowledge your career break briefly and then quickly shift the focus to your value as a candidate. Mention the skills you’ve developed during your time away—such as multitasking, organization, and resilience—and relate them to the position you’re applying for. Many employers appreciate the skills parents develop during their gap. Emphasize your excitement to rejoin the workforce and how your past experience, paired with your life skills, makes you an excellent candidate for the role. With Cake, you can easily create a resume online with our online resume builder, free download your resume’s PDF formats, and utilize ATS-compliant templates to create a resume. 10+ UI/UX Resume Examples and Templates (With Writing Guides and Tips)

UI/UX Resume Examples TemplatesIt is predicted that there will be 100 million UI UX designers by 2050 as the demand for apps or websites that attract user engagement increases. Currently, many companies seek UI UX resumes that highlight a candidate's ability to assess user satisfaction when using web and mobile applications. UI UX design is becoming more widespread as healthcare, finance, e-commerce, education, and reading applications use the same technology. As a result of the widespread need for reliable UI UX designers, more jobs are opening up. In some industries, the same person may hold the UI UX job description despite having different focuses. In this article, you will find information on the difference between UI UX, tips on how to create a resume that will attract the attention of recruiters, and, of course, UI UX resume examples and templates to use as a guide. Table of Contents The Difference Between UI and UX Designer How To Craft an Outstanding UI/UX Design Resume Tips for Creating a Strong UI UX Designer Resume 5 Examples of UI UX Designer Resumes UI/UX Resume Design Inspiration Key Takeaways The Difference Between UI and UX Designer User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) are different but complementary; UI is actually a specialized part of UX. One of Figma's designers stated that an effective UI combines function and interactive design to create an emotional connection between the user and the product. The same source also identified potential areas of overlap between user interface and user experience: Application of user-centred design principlesUI and UX teams work in cross-functional teams, from developers to graphic designers.Use the same design tools. UI and UX designers also have distinctive scopes of work. Before we discuss how to write a UI/UX designer resume, let's clarify these definitions so you can tailor your resume to your unique background and experience. Who Are UI Designers? UI designers are professionals responsible for creating user-friendly and visually appealing digital interfaces. Their work ensures that users have a seamless and enjoyable experience when interacting with websites, apps, or software. Here’s how they contribute to the overall design: Color Theory: UI designers strategically use color to communicate a brand’s identity and message. By applying principles from the color wheel—like complementary, monochromatic, or analogous color schemes—they create visual harmony that resonates with users and reflects the product or service.Typography: Typography is central to a UI designer’s work. They carefully select fonts and organize text to make content clear, readable, and engaging. The goal is to convey information effectively while maintaining a visually pleasing and easy-to-navigate interface.Design Patterns: UI designers follow established design patterns, which are reusable solutions to common interface challenges. These patterns help ensure consistency, ease of use, and intuitive navigation across different platforms.Interactive Animation: By incorporating interactive animation, UI designers enhance user experience by making interfaces more dynamic. Animations respond to user actions—like clicking or dragging—and create a more engaging and responsive environment, ensuring smooth interactions with the application. Overall, UI designers blend creativity and technical skills to craft interfaces that meet both the visual and functional needs of users. If you are writing a UI designer resume, even for an entry-level role, ensure you have relevant software skills: Figma, Sketch, Balsamiq, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite. You can also include a portfolio with interactive prototypes using software such as InVision and Flinto. Besides these hard skills, you'll also need to master soft skills like communication, collaboration, creative thinking, and more. Who Are UX Designers? UX designers are professionals focused on creating seamless and user-centric experiences for digital products, such as websites or applications. They ensure that every interaction a user has with a product is smooth, intuitive, and meets both business and user needs. Here's what they do: Product Strategy: UX designers help shape the product's vision and goals by creating a product strategy. This strategy guides the development of the website or application, ensuring that the product aligns with business objectives and satisfies user needs.User Research: UX designers conduct thorough user research to understand the target audience's behaviors, needs, and motivations. This research informs the design process, helping designers create solutions that are tailored to real users and emerging trends in the market.Information Architecture: Information architecture involves organizing and structuring content in a way that is logical and easy to navigate. UX designers focus on creating intuitive menus, layouts, and feature placement that enhance usability from the user's perspective.Testing and Iteration: UX designers prioritize usability testing to ensure that the product functions as intended. They gather user feedback, identify issues, and continuously iterate on designs to improve the overall user experience before launching the final product. In short, UX designers focus on understanding users, crafting intuitive designs, and refining products through testing to create user-friendly and effective digital experiences. If you're writing a UX design resume, be sure to highlight the following key skills to showcase your expertise: Wireframing: Wireframes are detailed layouts of a website or application, mapping out the structure and arrangement of pages before the final design is implemented. Demonstrating your ability to create wireframes is essential for showing your understanding of foundational design planning.Prototyping: Prototypes are early versions of a product that undergo extensive testing before development. Including this skill on your resume shows that you can create and test functional models to refine user experience prior to launch.Mockups: Mockups are visual representations that showcase the design elements of a product, such as color schemes, typography, and navigation. Mentioning your experience with mockups highlights your ability to bring design concepts to life and collaborate with visual designers.User Flows: User flows map out the user's journey through an application or website, identifying feature placement that enhances usability. Highlighting this skill demonstrates your capacity to design intuitive, user-friendly navigation that improves the overall experience. By including these skills, you can demonstrate your comprehensive understanding of the UX design process, from planning and testing to creating visually appealing, user-centered designs. Although UI and UX designers have different scopes and responsibilities, in reality, they are often combined into a single role. Many designers today are skilled in both areas, handling the complete process of crafting a product that is both visually appealing and user-friendly, from initial research and wireframing to final design and testing. Now that you have known all things about UI/UX design, let's get on to the main section! How To Craft an Outstanding UI/UX Design Resume 1) Always Include Personal Information Personal information contains basic data that hiring managers need to identify the candidate. It is usually in the top left-hand corner of a UI UX Designer's resume header. This information should include more than just the UI UX designer's resume; it should also be included in the cover letter, letters of recommendation, and other supporting documents. Personal InformationFull nameTelephone NumberActive emailCity/StatePortfolio or personal projectsLinkedin account When deciding what personal information to include, consider the following: Ensure that no personal information, such as ID number, social security number, bank account, and full address, can be used for profiling. This information can only be provided once you have signed the contract and only for administrative purposes. Please do not include gender, religion, relationship, age, or sexual orientation to avoid bias in recruiters' judgment. 2) Craft a Career Objective or Resume Summary When writing a UX or UI designer resume, you must know your current expertise level. The difference in experience will determine whether you need to use a resume objective or summary. A UX or UI resume objective is used by recent graduates, junior-level workers, and groups of job seekers who have yet to gain experience. It focuses on highlighting relevant skills and career goals.A typical resume objective includes name, educational background, hard and soft skills, and career aspirations. Meanwhile, experienced candidates use the UI UX designer resume summary. It is called a summary because this section must be able to describe the entire content of the UI UX Designer resume. The resume summary includes the candidate's most recent position and measurable accomplishments expressed in units such as percentages and numbers. Make sure that this section contains the information that recruiters need to know. UI UX Resume - Resume Summary Example #1Detail-oriented graduate passionate about UI design, improving user engagement and user retention, and developing visually appealing interfaces. Proficient in software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch and Invision. Have experience as a UI designer intern in XYZ, Inc., with the main responsibilities of assisting in the created prototype user interface. Looking for a dream job as a Junior UI Designer job and applying the relevant skills and knowledge I have.UI UX Resume - Resume Summary Example #2Results-oriented UX designer with 3 years of experience in effective user experience design. Conducted more than 150 user and usability interviews, influenced the development of UI UX design and increased user engagement by 50% in more than 5 platforms. Proficient in various tools such as User Testing, Lookback, Figma, Axure RP, Hotjar, Typeform and SurveyMonkey. 3) Spend Time Writing Your Experience When writing a resume for a UI UX designer, you need to demonstrate your mastery of technical skills. Relevant experience for recent graduates may include explaining the tools required for this position. So the information needed in the work experience section includes work/internship/organization experience, measurable achievements rather than a job description, company name, length of time worked and last position held. UI UX Resume - Resume Work Experience Example #1UI Designer, XYZ Tech Innovation, Jakarta, Indonesia, June 2022 - June 2024Designed and implemented a new user interface feature for XYZ Tech Innovation's free reading app, successfully increasing the number of users by 60% and user retention by 25% over 3 months.Analyzed user feedback to improve accessibility of features through iterative changes and testing, resulting in a 25% increase in user satisfaction over 4 consecutive months.Worked with cross-functional teams to create interactive prototypes, design concepts and iterative testing that reduced work inefficiency by 30%.UI Designer, Cake Agency Innovation, Jakarta, Indonesia, June 2022 - June 2024Assisted in redesigning 3 e-commerce sites that successfully reduced bounce rates within 5 months of launch.Actively engaged with senior designers to assist with user flows that improved ease of navigation, resulting in a 45% reduction in user errors.Conducted A/B testing of design elements of 2 mobile apps, helping to identify the most effective solution to unresponsive features, resulting in a 45% increase in user satisfaction scores. Remember to use action verbs to highlight your achievements, such as analyzing user feedback, increasing user engagement, creating interactive prototypes, and creating user personas. Action verbs highlight the impact you have made while working for or joining a particular organization. 4) Don't Forget to Include Your Skills Many job seekers deliberately omit relevant soft skills from their resumes because they think the role of UI/UX designer requires more expertise in the use of tools. We advice you to get rid of these thoughts. Soft skills, also known as interpersonal skills, are becoming increasingly important in the workplace. Candidates who master soft skills are seen as open-minded, willing to learn, highly resilient and good communicators. That's why it's a good idea to balance soft and hard skills in a UI UX resume rather than emphasizing one over the other. Also, ensure that the whole list of skills and work experience is described in the resume summary or objective. Need more? Here are some examples of key skills you can list on your UI UX designer resume: Problem-solvingTime management skillsCritical thinkingActive listeningCommunication skillsCollaboration skillsCreativityCuriosityPassionateOpennessLeadershipAdaptabilityEmpathy 5) Have Relevant Educational Background Is a Plus Before deciding whether educational background is important for UX and UI designers, consider these points: Including an educational background in a UI and UX designer resume is important if you are a recent graduate, a junior-level job seeker, or a job seeker without experience. You can omit the education section if you have more than 7 years of experience or are applying for a job for career advancement. UI UX Resume - Education Section - Example #1Educational backgroundGadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Aug 2021 - presentMajor in Finance, Minor in Accounting, GPA 3.9/4.0Expected to graduate in Jan 2024UI UX Resume - Education Section - Example #2Educational backgroundGadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Aug 2021 - Aug 2024Bachelor of Science in Computer ScienceGPA: 3.9/4.0 Other Information Language skills, certificates, and licenses are additional information that will make your UI UX designer more marketable.

UBC(the University of British Columbia)修習碩士學位(Master of Computer Science),專精領域為人機互動介面(HCI,Human-Computer Interaction)。HCI(Human Computer Interaction,人機互動)是一個學術領域,算是資訊工程和心理學的交叉學科。 延伸閱讀:Facebook PM Peter 的產品管理職涯:新創、跨國公司、To B、To C 通通包辦! 1.What you love2.What you’re good at3.How you get paid

Therefore, it is essential to craft a complete and outstanding product design portfolio to catch the recruiter’s attention. The most general purpose of a portfolio is to earn a chance for an interview. Therefore, it is very important to provide the best first impression through a well-made product design portfolio that can showcase your full potential as a product designer. What to Include in a Product Design PortfolioTo understand what to include in a product design portfolio, first, let’s go through what a product design portfolio is. A product design portfolio is a collection of the greatest design ideas and projects that highlight a designer’s skills and personal characteristics. It serves as a summary of previous works ranging from professional projects, case studies, personal design, etc. However, not everything should be included in a product design portfolio. The best product design portfolios usually have a great product design portfolio layout to make them easy to read and follow. To create an outstanding product design portfolio layout, several important things that need to be included in your product design portfolio: 1. About me (your story) The about me section can include your personal story that tells the recruiters more about yourself, your characteristics, your value, and your goal. 2. Resume A winning project design portfolio should include a well-written resume section. A resume could let the hirers have a better grasp of your background and experiences.A resume in a project design portfolio should have:Contact informationProfessional summaryWork experiencesEducation 3. Images of project outputs Visual aids can give a beautiful touch to your product design portfolio. By providing images of project outputs in your product design portfolio, the audiences could have a better idea as to what extent your product design skills are. Images could also help with your product design portfolio layout and make the whole portfolio pop out. 4. Context of each project After providing images of project outputs, now is the time to elaborate more on them. The context of each project could include information that will help the hirer understand your design and workflow better. The project context in a product design portfolio usually includes information such as: Summary–Elaborate and explain further regarding specific projects. Problem statement–State what is the problem that the previous project needs to solve. What did the project demand? Team–Provide the information on the scale of the team working on that project. Is it a group project or a one-person project? Role–Highlight your role during that specific project. Are you responsible for the visual design part, or any other parts? Platform–What platform is your previous project being used on? For example mobile apps/websites. Timeline–How long is the duration for that specific project? Constraints–List out the difficulty that you have overcome when doing the project. 5. Process of each project The process of each project can highlight the specific methods you adopt that might interest the hirer. It could include information such as: Background researchDesign inspiration and referencesSolutions on how you solve the existing problem 6. Outcomes of each project The outcomes will be an interesting part to look into. After looking at your result and approach, the hirer would be interested in what this project has achieved. There are two approaches that you could use to describe the outcomes: Qualitative approach–This approach could include interesting anecdotes and reviews from hirers and users.Quantitative approach–You could provide some insights and metrics that are achieved by your project. It could include numbers, graphs, and statistics. What Makes a Good Product Design Portfolio? There are many elements and factors that contribute to how good a product design portfolio is. Take a look at some of the factors that can make a good product design portfolio. ✨ Aesthetically pleasing A good product design portfolio, of course, should be designed beautifully. It could be the first impression that the audience will get from your product design portfolio. People could understand your aesthetic value, your design skills, your personality, and your style based on how your product design portfolio looks. ✨ Easy to navigate view No matter how many amazing projects you have done previously, you need to be smart on how you organize them so that people can easily understand the points you are meaning to deliver. Therefore, you have to keep your product design portfolio clean and tidy to help audiences navigate through the entire portfolio. ✨ Relevant to the audience’s needs and expectations A great product design portfolio should include content that will be beneficially helpful for the clients to decide on whether or not to use your service. Therefore, it is important to understand the audience’s demand and style and try to tailor your product design portfolio according to what they might like. ✨ Shows your best works Some product designers struggle with what to put inside their product design portfolio. Sometimes quantity does not equal quantity. So, it would be okay to include only your best works that are relevant to the hirer’s needs. ✨Uses the right format It is not wrong to send your product design student portfolio in a PDF file or upload them to a cloud drive. However, many professional designers have their exclusive product designer portfolio website that showcases their works professionally and beautifully. How to Make a Product Design PortfolioStep 1: Determine the purpose of your product design portfolio. It is very important to ask yourself these questions before designing and organizing your product design portfolio, as a portfolio used to land a case with a client is very different from a portfolio used to apply for a higher degree in design. Step 2: Choose the projects to be included in the product design portfolio. Once again, carefully select the project that you are including in your product design portfolio. The project of your choosing should be relevant and beneficial to close the deal with a client. The tip is to include an adequate number of projects just to show that you have enough experiences, and include only your best projects. Step 3: Compile all the materials needed. Compile and keep all the material organized and in one place. It will help the client to navigate through all your previous projects easily without getting lost somewhere in between. Step 4: Create the case study descriptions. You can create case studies on your own to make you stand out from another product designer. Please make sure to include why you are choosing this specific approach, and what you have benefited from it. Hirers are more interested in how your minds and approaches work. Step 5: Design an attractive front page cover. An attractive front page cover can catch the client’s attention to look further into your product design portfolio. Your front page cover could also signify your characteristic and personality that reflects on your overall identity as a product designer. Step 6: Check for any grammatical errors or typos. Grammatical errors or typos may be a deal-breaker for most people. It shows that you are not attentive enough to details. By making sure of no typos and grammatical errors, it will show that you are a mature and professional product designer with a great sense of responsibility to complete any projects given your way. Step 7: Regularly update your portfolio. For most product designers, it will be helpful to regularly update your product design portfolio considering the growing projects and masterpieces that you are producing each day. Not only will it save you a lot of time when making adjustments to show to the clients, but it will also show that you are having a progressive career in this field, especially if your product design portfolio is on the internet or in the form of a product design portfolio website.Create your online presence and personal branding by creating your very own online portfolio. Whether you design physical items or digital apps, your portfolio needs to show the "why"behind your decisions. Here are the best places to find product design portfolio example:1. Behance While other sites show single images, Behance allows designers to post long-form projects that include everything from user research and wireframes to final 3D renders. It’s a fantastic resource for learning how to present different views of a product, showing all the internal parts and pieces, which proves you understand the technical engineering as much as the visual design.See product design portfolio examples at Behance2. MobbinIf you are a digital product designer, Mobbin is an essential research tool. It’s not a portfolio site itself, but a library of real-world UI patterns from the world's most successful apps. By studying the flows on Mobbin, you can see how top-tier products handle complex tasks like "Onboarding" or "Checkout." It’s the best place to find inspiration for making your own portfolio projects feel production-ready and intuitive. See product design portfolio examples at Mobbin3. CakeCake is a great place to see how product designers present themselves as Professional Problem Solvers. You can find portfolios that link a beautiful project gallery directly to a resume focused on impact metrics, for example: "Reduced user churn by 15%." It’s a helpful reference for learning how to write about your role and directly showing that you can work within a team and meet tight deadlines while still producing high-quality work. See product design portfolio examples at Cake Tips on How to Create a Product Design Portfolio💡 Control the amount of text description. While text description could help the clients understand the meaning behind all the images you include in the product design portfolio, you should not include too much text to throw the whole portfolio balance away. Please remember that the main purpose of the portfolio is to gain a first great impression of your design skills and qualifications. Too much text description could be excessive to some extent. 💡Deliver with projects. Aside from various works that have no relation to one another, recruiters will be more interested in the project that you have done before. They are interested in your approach in how you tackle the project, what your work process is like, and how efficient and capable you are in achieving the end goal. 💡 Keep it simple yet elegant. Avoid overcomplicating your entire product design portfolio. Some designers tend to overcomplicate their portfolio that they end up with a design that is irrelevant and less impactful. Try to stay away from a design that is too abstract, such as a sophisticated-looking logo, hard-to-follow layout, etc. 💡 Present with your best work. Most product designers failed when they tried to show hirers of the abundant amount of work they have ever completed. While it is important to show experiences, however, you still need to pay attention to the quality. On the other hand, including too few previous projects will raise the question of whether you have the ability and experience to take on this job. The golden rule is to keep the project from 3 to 5. 💡 Include skills. It is important to show the hirer of your professional skills in this field. Also, remember to clarify your stated skills in the relevant projects and experiences.Ready to Build Your Product Design Portfolio?Cake is your all-in-one career solution. Examples of In-Demand Technical Skills: Programming Languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, C++.Frameworks and Tools: React, TensorFlow, Docker, Kubernetes.Specialized Knowledge: Machine learning, cloud computing, data analysis, cybersecurity, and DevOps practices. When mentioning technical skills, include specific examples of how you’ve applied them in real-world scenarios to deliver measurable results.Computer Science Cover Letter Example #1 - Hard Skills “Developed a Python-based data processing script that automated manual workflows, reducing processing time by 30% and increasing team productivity.” Computer Science Cover Letter Example #2 - Hard Skills“Implemented a cloud infrastructure on AWS for a client project, cutting hosting costs by 20% and improving scalability.”Computer Science Cover Letter Example #3 - Hard Skills“Designed and deployed a machine learning model using TensorFlow that achieved a 95% accuracy rate in predicting customer churn.” Employers want to see what you know and how you’ve used your knowledge to solve problems, drive efficiency, or create value. But hold on! Make sure there are no typos or grammatical errors. These sound like minor things but can cost you the chance of landing the job interview.COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID IN A COMPUTER SCIENCE COVER LETTER1) Generic Content Using a one-size-fits-all approach by copy-pasting the same cover letter for multiple applications. Recruiters can easily spot a generic cover letter, which signals a lack of effort and genuine interest in the role or company. How to avoid it: Tailor your cover letter for each application by referencing the company’s mission, values, or recent projects.Highlight how your skills align precisely with the job description.Example: Instead of “I am applying for the software developer role,” write, “I am excited to contribute to [Company Name]’s innovative AI solutions as a software developer, leveraging my expertise in machine learning models.”2) Too Much JargonOverloading your cover letter with highly technical terms may confuse non-technical hiring managers or fail to communicate the impact of your work. A jargon-heavy cover letter can come across as inaccessible and may obscure your accomplishments. How to avoid it:Focus on the results of your technical skills rather than the technical process itself.Simplify complex ideas for a broader audience, especially if the hiring manager may not have a technical background.Example: Instead of “Deployed containerized microservices using Kubernetes,” write, “Streamlined application deployment, improving scalability and reducing downtime by 25%.3) Typos and Formatting ErrorsGrammatical errors, typos, or inconsistent formatting that make your cover letter look unpolished. Mistakes suggest a lack of attention to detail, a critical skill in the computer science field. How to avoid it:Proofread your cover letter multiple times or use tools like Grammarly to catch errors.Stick to a clean, professional format with consistent fonts, margins, and spacing.Pro Tip: Read your cover letter aloud or have a trusted friend review it to catch issues you might miss.4) No Mention of the CompanyFailing to reference the company’s goals, values, or projects in your cover letter. It shows a lack of genuine interest and effort, making it harder to stand out among other applicants. You can research the company’s recent achievements, mission, or challenges and tie them to your skills. For example: “I am inspired by [Company Name]’s commitment to sustainability in technology and would be thrilled to contribute to developing energy-efficient software solutions.”5) Quick Recap of What to Do InsteadPersonalize Your Cover Letter: Mention the company name, job title, and specific values or projects. You can:Focus on Results: Highlight your accomplishments and the impact of your work rather than overly technical details.Polish Your Presentation: Ensure error-free writing and a clean, professional format.By avoiding these common mistakes, you can craft a cover letter that stands out and effectively communicates your value to prospective employers. With Cake, an online resume builder, you can access hundreds of free, professionally designed templates tailored for computer science professionals. Designer Resume Writing Guide with Examples and Tips

Created by CakeIn this article, you will learn about:Which format is the best for a designer resume? What to include in a designer resume: 8 key sections5 tips for a good designer resume and portfolioWhat designer resume template is the most creative one?Designer resume sampleA designer’s job duties not only include making things beautiful, pleasing, or eye-catching. It’s also about making connections to people and how people act, interact, and understand each other and the world around them. You help people make every subtle decision that shapes the future of our daily life. Nevertheless, you have to persuade others to trust you with your talent and work to turn your design into an impact. Surely, you know more than others about how to make your designer resume aesthetically pleasing. However, writing a designer resume is not only about creativity. We’ll walk you through the tips to write a professional interview-winning designer resume. This article is for those who are writing a:Graphic designer resumeUI / UX designer resumeWeb designer resumeProduct designer resumeArt director resumeFashion designer resumeGame designer resumeWhich format is the best for a designer resume? To start writing a designer resume, first adopt a format. The right format will present your expertise and strengths clear and straightforward, as well as retaining your unique personality in a designer resume. 3 common resume formats for your designer resume1. Chronological resume format Adopting the chronological resume format allows you to organize your design experience in a timely order, and focus on delivering quality context about design achievements and special moments in the designer resume. 2. Functional resume format The functional resume features skills as the main focus and uses achievements as examples to support any design skills. 3. Combinational resume format A combinational resume format combines the chronological format and the functional resume format to demonstrate all the way you desire. However, it can sometimes be repetitive. In addition, it’s not suitable for junior designers who have few achievements to showcase on their resumes. In what format should a designer resume be sent? Your designer resume file type depends on the application channel. Read the requirements of the job description once more before exporting the designer resume file. 1. PDF format A PDF format is recommended as it’s device-friendly across platforms. It also retains your designer resume’s layout, font style, and margins intact. Of course, as a designer, your instinct will always lead you to a PDF file. 2. Word format Adopt an MS word format if the company specifically asks for a word file. It can easily ruin your layout and is unfriendly for platforms except for PCs, so it’s not ideal for a designer resume. How to prepare an entry-level or junior designer resume? ✅ Advice 1: Use skill-based (functional) resume format. If you are writing a designer resume as a junior designer without much experience, try adopting a functional (skill-based) format. Highlight graphic design, UI/UX, product design, web design, etc. skills in your designer resume to make up for the lack of experience. ✅ Advice 2: Adopt a career objective statement. Even without experience, you can show ambition and potential design creativity in your designer resume. Use a clear design career objective to leave a positive impression on the hiring manager or senior designer. ✅ Advice 3: Highlight education and awards section If you don’t have abundant experience to show off in the designer resume, make other sections shine. Highlight your design education and design awards so the hiring manager will have a concrete idea about your skills. The education section in an entry-level designer resume can include: Design workshop experiencesDesign-related events like organizing a design week at schoolOther exhibition or show experiencesExtracurricular activitiesGPA (if 3.5 or above) What to include in a designer resume: 8 key sectionsA resume for a designer’s purpose, different from a designer’s portfolio, is a document that lists your professional experience in the text. In order to make your designer resume stand out, use a resume structure that best suits you. Focus on delivering strong context in descriptions on your designer resume. You can prove your design skills in the portfolio. 1. Resume Profile (Personal Information)List your contact details on the top of the page, including:NameEmailPhone NumberPortfolio WebsiteLinkedIn Profile (optional)Location (optional) 2. Resume HeadlineA resume headline is a short statement on top of the designer resume that announces your current or expected design position. Designer Resume Headline Example: Empathetic Product Designer with 6+ years experience in the Automobile Industry. 3. Resume SummaryA resume summary is a small paragraph that summarizes your entire work experience so the hiring manager will have a clear idea of your ability without having to read through your designer resume. A resume summary should demonstrate the essence of your experience and respond to the job description post as well. To do so, integrate keywords in the job posting, so you can seize their attention. Designer Resume Summary Example: Agile UX designer with 5+ years of experience in transforming research insights into practical products. Strong knowledge in immersive computing and AR/VR. Increased 50% conversion rate by reorganizing information architecture with front and back-end engineers. 4. Resume ObjectiveFor freshers, try a designer resume objective instead of a summary if you don’t have sufficient experience. A resume objective shouts out the strong motivation for applying and your strong skills.Designer Resume Objective Example: Seeking a position in ABC company as a product designer to bring sketches and prototypes into unique, quality products. 5. SkillsListing skills in a designer resume can be a nuisance as most designers are armed with a wide variety of skills. If there’s a long list, categorizing skills is a good way to make it easy for the hiring manager to read your designer resume. ExampleSkills for Different Designer Roles: Designer:- Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, After Effects, Premiere, etc)- Animation, Branding, Color Scheme, Editorial design, Illustration, Infographics, Logo Design, Printing, Photography, Typography.Coding:Processing, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, C, Swift3D Modeling:Autocad, Blender, C4D, Maya, Rhinoceros, Sketchup, Solidworks, ZbrushUI/UX:-Figma, Framer, InVision, Origami Studio, Principle, Sketch, XD- Data analysis, Persona hypothesis, Journey mapping, User flow, Wireframing, Prototyping, RWD, A/B testingWeb Design:Web server management, Content management system, Search engine optimization, Digital marketingFashion Design:Digital Fashion Pro, CorelDRAW, Optitex, Browzwear, Clo 3D, C-Design, TUKA3D.Game Design:GDevelop, Autodesk, Stencyl, Construct 2, Twine, GameSalad, Unity, Substance Painter, Unreal 4 OtherSkills for a Designer Resume: CommunicationCollaborationStorytellingOrganizationProject managementProduct management 6. Work ExperienceThe experience section is where the recruiter looks closer. Before writing the experience section, read through the job description once more. Select critical keywords from the posting, and make sure you use the same terms naturally in your designer resume. List the most recent design experience first. Add 2-4 bullet points that explain achievements with concrete details and quantified results. Numbers are more persuasive to hiring managers and clients. Designer Resume Experience Example: Senior Art DirectorBridge Media, C.A. January 2013 - 2018Led a graphic design team of 15 people to develop corporate visual identities and logo proposals for 130+ companies and clients including Penguin publishing, The Atlantic, Godiva, and more.Brought an average of 30% more sales and Increased customer growth by 10%Design Works featured reached 1M+ views on Behance.Graphic DesignerRiverbed Design Studio May 2010 - 2013Managed 80+ design projects including package designs, rebranding, visual identities for different clients, ranging from startups, small corporations to government events and listed companies.Collaborated with 10+ designers to brainstorm innovative concepts, iterate, validify, and render final projects. 7. EducationIf you have a handful of work projects to showcase in the portfolio, keep the education section simple in your designer resume. However, for juniors who don’t have much work to present, the education section matters. What to include in the education section:Date of GraduationGraduate DegreeName of the SchoolGPA (if above 3.5)Work-related Certificates such as Coursera, Skillshare, etc.Related coursework or workshop experiences Designer Resume Education Example: Parsons The New School of DesignAug 2015 - May 2018BFA Fashion Design BBA Strategic Design Management 8. Additional InformationFor designers, a portfolio proves your competence more than a designer resume. Other than work experience, you can add an extra section to include: Contest awards or honorable mentionsProminent works or side projectsHobbies or serious leisuresReference list5 tips for a good designer resume and portfolio👍 1: Tailor the designer resume to the job description. Tailoring your designer resume is essential for job application. Using the exact words in the job description will show the hiring manager that you’re the right fit. It also increases your chance to pass the ATS system and shows your understanding of the company. 👍 2: Make it concise and relevant to the job. Designers are usually multi-talented. Nevertheless, when writing a designer resume, focusing on the skills and experience relevant to the job description is crucial. Your work responsibilities descriptions should align with the job application. Cut out unrelated duties to make it concise. 👍 3: Refer to online designer resume and portfolio examples. We all look for online designer resume samples and portfolio examples. Refer to examples online, learn from them, and avoid mistakes you see in them. Keep your portfolio clean and comprehensible. 👍 4: Pay attention to the format of your designer resume and portfolio. Pay extra attention to colors, font styles, font size, and line spacing on the resume, especially for graphic designer jobs or UI/UX designer jobs. You can use a different font for headings, which makes it easy for the hiring manager to skim your resume. 👍 5: Focus on thought process and project objectives for portfolios. To make a good design portfolio, be clear about project objectives and storytelling techniques. One of the essential parts of a good designer’s portfolio is to provide a context for design decisions. Here are just several questions to ask yourself when you write about a project: What problem or objective do you have initially? What are your roles in this project? What is the scope or constraints of this project?Who are the users and audience? What insight or interesting discoveries are found during each phase? How are design decisions made or selected? What effect are you intending to bring to users? What is the final result or how do you accomplish the final presentation? What improvements can be made next time? An online design portfolio website is crucial for any designer, including freelance designers, entry-level designers, or even art directors. They are easier to update, share, and manage than PDF files. Use portfolio builders to save time on designing and focus on delivering the quality design process. What designer resume template is the most creative one?🖋 Should I use a template for my designer resume?Using a designer resume template ensures the resume is clear and easy to read, and most importantly it’s ATS friendly. In addition, it takes less time to edit than starting from scratch. Be careful when using a resume template for designer jobs. You should edit it to be both ATS friendly and consistent with who you are as a designer. 🖋 What is the best designer resume template? For freshers and juniors with no work experience:Choose a template that hides your lack of experience, and highlights design skills or side projects to show your expertise. For senior designers and experienced candidates:A simple design resume template will be sufficient to present your experience. 🖋 Where can I get a free resume template?Cake is an online free multimedia resume portfolio builder.
