My name is Elisa Nguyen and I am writing this letter to apply for the English Teacher position at ABC English Centre which I saw on your school website. With 5 years of experience in teaching English, I am confident that my professional expertise aligns closely with the requirements outlined in your job description. 3. I've completed a TESL certificate course with IELTS 8.0 and have been in the profession of teaching for more than 5 years. As an IELTS teacher, I have taught varying class sizes from 8 to 15 and worked with students at all levels. Apart from helping students to achieve the IELTS certificate, I always expect and inspire them to enjoy learning English. Almost 80% of students who take my class achieve the IELTS certificate with an average score of 6.5. Working at ABC English Centre is my dream, and I am truly impressed by the school's mission to the importance of English in the future. From that understanding, I believe that my competence and expertise in teaching could be of contributing to your academic organization. 4. Nhắc nhở đọc CV được đính kèm - Ghi chú cho nhà tuyển dụng thấy CV hoặc những hồ sơ mà bạn đính kèm.Bày tỏ sự cảm ơn - Thể hiện sự cảm ơn với nhà tuyển dụng vì đã dành thời gian xem hồ sơ của bạn và bày tỏ mong muốn nhận được sự phản hồi từ họ.Cách viết đoạn cuối trong đơn xin việc tiếng Anh: I hope I could have an opportunity for the interview to discuss with you in detail about this English Teacher position and my qualifications. Please find my CV and work samples attached below, and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration. 5. In order to become an excellent restaurant manager who is able to lead the restaurant to success, one has to showcase exemplary leadership, communication, multitasking, and firm decision-making skills, just to name a few. How to write a restaurant manager resume We understand that crafting a resume sometimes can be overwhelming and takes a lot of time because most of us aren't quite sure where to start. There are 6 crucial steps and let us break them down for you. STEP 1: Recognize the difference between a restaurant manager "resume" and "CV". Depending on where you are on the globe, the terms CV (curriculum vitae) and resume might refer to different things. Thus, one has to pay attention to what is requested. Usually, for a restaurant manager position application, recruiters ask for a brief and most relevant summary of your skills and experiences, which is called a restaurant manager resume. Meanwhile, comprehensive and extended information of your work history and skill sets is called a restaurant manager CV. A CV is rarely requested for a job application because it could be more than two pages and recruiters normally scan through applications within seconds. STEP 2: Decide the best resume format for restaurant managers. Ideally, you want a format that serves your skills and experiences the fastest in the best way possible to the hand of the restaurant owner. As someone who bears many responsibilities, avoid elaborating on the generic restaurant manager duties on your resume, and put the focus on the accomplishments met instead.💡 The chronological resume format is the way to go for 3 compelling reasons: It advertises the most recent managerial achievements and roles right off the bat.It keeps the restaurant manager resume looking neat and structured.Recruiters are familiar with its layout. STEP 3: Look into some online restaurant manager resume examples.Leave no stone unturned! Go on the internet and search for restaurant manager resume examples (or restaurant manager CV samples). The purpose is to paint a picture of how the end result should look like.🔍 You will also be able to acquire some insights on what and how to write, including but not limited to: An objective for restaurant manager resume.Restaurant manager resume description.Restaurant manager professional summary. STEP 4: Individualize the restaurant manager resume. Submitting a generic resume might be the easiest and fastest way to get your application reviewed, but it definitely is not the most effective and high-yielding option. Like any other employers, restaurant owners like to know that the person they trust most to run their business has a deep understanding of the restaurant and its value, vision, and mission. To increase one’s chance and make the cut, one should always craft their restaurant manager resume to align with the job description, required skills, and experiences.STEP 5: Attach an application letter for a restaurant manager. If a resume is a tool to market the jobseeker's value and skills, an application letter (a.k.a. cover letter) is an apparatus to sell and seal the deal, as it might decide if one lands an interview or not. Jobseekers are able to elaborate on one of the achievements mentioned on the resume in the cover letter. Therefore, the tone of a restaurant manager's cover letter should be persuasive and supportive of the resume.STEP 6: Perform inspections and proofreading on the resume and cover letter.Comparable to a food expeditor's duty, the submitted restaurant manager resume and cover letter should be free from grammar mistakes, irrelevant word choices, and spelling errors. Additionally, any information included should be true, updated, and relevant. What to put on a restaurant manager resume 1. Resume Header The essential personal information that should be included is no less and no more than: Full nameProfessional email addressPhone number ⏳Reminder: For overseas or out-of-state applications, make sure to mention the current city and country of residence.2. Resume Headline The function of a resume headline is to let readers know in a glimpse where you are on a professional level and is placed under the applicant's name. For examples: Restaurant general manager with 10 years' experienceExperienced fast food restaurant manager 3. Resume Summary Regardless of how impressive your work history and skills are, the restaurant manager resume summary section can be the make or break. This short paragraph should entail the most notable achievement and strongest skills relevant to a restaurant manager position. Professional summary for a restaurant manager resume example: Self-motivated restaurant manager and sommelier with 8 years of experience in and extensive knowledge of European cuisine. Exhibited excellent leadership and service-oriented mindset while maintaining a high-record of profit and loss gain. 4. Resume Objective This section is to emphasize what you seek in the new role. Example of a professional-looking career objective for restaurant manager: Looking to implement my keen managerial skills, vast knowledge of the culinary and hospitality industries at BistroX. 5. Skills A restaurant manager resume skills list is not only a fraction of the resume itself. Aside from work experience, recruiters put a lot of consideration into candidates' skill sets before inviting them for an interview. On a restaurant manager's resume, one could either point out one’s strongest skill that sets them apart from the competition or the highly required skill. To keep up with the job, a blend of soft skills and practical skills is required, just like the below example: For examples: Hospitality knowledge, specifically in Food and Beverage industryDecision-makingStaff trainingFood and beverages safety controlProfitable-thinkingCommunication 6. Work History Everyone has to work their way up to reach the restaurant general manager role. With that said, it is safe to assume that applicants who seek this position have got a few years of work experience in their pockets. When touching on restaurant manager experience on a resume, it is best to lay it out in a bullet points format For examples: Established a new training program for customer-facing staff that successfully increased guests satisfaction from 85% to 92%Supervised more than 30 employees, decreased turnover rate to 5%Reduced cost by 10% after evaluating and eliminating inefficient storage issues 7. Education Although a perfect GPA score is not necessarily what employers look for when you are already a mid-level or senior-level professional, it is still important to include a bit of educational background. Let your future employer know your roots. 8. Additional Information Any relevant information that can add value to your application should be covered in the additional information section, for instance, language skills, certifications, awards, and others. 3. Letter of Interest vs. Cover Letter: Differences and How to Write

Created by CakeIn this article, you’ll read about: Letter of Interest vs. Cover LetterHow to Write a Letter of InterestTips for Writing an Impressive Letter of InterestHow to Write a Professional Cover LetterYou might think a strong resume or CV can help you stand out from the crowd. That is correct, but not complete! In many cases, you need to demonstrate your passion as well as your interest in a specific position to further impress the hiring manager, which can be done through a letter of interest. Don't mistake a letter of interest for a cover letter! The difference between a statement of interest vs. a cover letter lies in their purpose. Think of the letter of interest as a cold call for a job that is not being advertised, whereas a cover letter should go with a job application for an open job vacancy.Letter of Interest vs. Cover LetterBefore diving into the differences between a cover letter and a letter of interest (LOI), note that a cover letter is also commonly referred to as a “job application letter". They serve a similar purpose and deliver similar contents. However, a letter of interest is different from a cover letter.1. LOIs are directed to companies that aren’t hiring Let's say you are interested in a position in a company even though it's already filled or not being promoted on job sites. However, you hope to work at that company in the future and are confident that you would be the right fit. This is when a letter of interest should be used. A letter of interest doesn’t have to be accompanied with a resume because the hiring manager has no intention of hiring. A letter of interest, on the other hand, will help you to show your deep interest and curiosity about the company and/or the position. Some of the situations in which you should send out an LOI:You’re just starting to look for a job.The company is new to the market. You’ve just relocated to a new area and are not familiar with the job market. 2. Cover letters are used to apply for job vacanciesA cover letter is nothing new - you might have seen it required in many job postings. Though it's not always required, employers would like to read a cover letter to better understand your motivation and qualifications. Thus, they can see whether you’re suitable for the job opening. That's why it should be sent along with your resume/CV for your job application. While a letter of interest focuses on conveying your interest in the role, a cover letter aims to explain why you’re applying for this role and point out what values you can bring to the organization. Example of an opening paragraph in a cover letter: “My name is Lina Chen, a content marketing specialist with 3 years of experience. I came across the job listing for the content writer position at REGNA on LinkedIn. I’m confident that my proven expertise and skills make me the right fit for this role.” 3. LOIs are typically shorter and more to-the-pointThere’s no specific standard for the length of an LOI, but 200-300 words is considered a good amount. You’re not required to appeal to the employer with your skills qualifications, so you don't have a lot to write in your letter of interest. Since companies that you send your LOIs to are not actively hiring, you don’t want to take too much of their time reading through your letter. Therefore, keep it short and concise.4. Letter of Intent vs. Letter of Interest vs. Cover LetterNow that you can tell the differences between a cover letter and a letter of interest, how about a letter of intent?A letter of intent can be considered as a combination of a cover letter and a letter of interest. It can be used in either of the two scenarios, as shown below. If your letter of intent goes with a job application to complement your resume/CV, it should include information on why you are qualified for the position. If the company doesn't have any specific jobs listed, your letter of intent will help express your intent in working for them in the future and explain why you would be a good fit. The difference is that letters of intent are used as a tool to introduce yourself and connect the hiring manager to your resume, rather than demonstrating how well you understand the company and the position. How to Write a Letter of InterestBelow are 5 essential elements of a letter of interest: Self introductionPurpose of writingIllustration of qualifications, skills experienceInvitation for an interviewAttachments1. Self introductionTo begin with, you should write 2-3 sentences that include your name and a summary of your background. That can be about your specialization, achievements, or educational qualifications, depending on whether you are an experienced individual or a recent graduate. 2. Purpose of writingNext, provide the reason why you're writing a letter of interest. Be honest, sincere, and straightforward. You will need only one sentence for this statement. 3. Illustration of qualifications, skills experienceHere comes the most important part of the letter - an illustration of how you fit the role and the company, as well as a summary of your skills and experience. To prove that you're capable of performing well at work, it's important to list out technical skills and relevant experiences you've acquired in previous positions. Meanwhile, soft skills are strong evidence that you can get along well with other peers and be the right cultural fit. Moreover, it's a great idea to present notable accomplishments you've achieved in the field. That way, you will be able to catch the employer's attention and make them read your resume. 4. Invitation for an interviewThis is similar to any kind of application letter. You will need to politely ask for their time to meet so that they can get to know you more. This is also a step that shows your enthusiasm and genuine interest. Make sure you also include your thanks for the employer's time and consideration. 5. AttachmentsConsider including a resume or CV with your letter of interest if you have plenty of experience and achievements in the field. It also doesn't hurt to attach other supporting documents such as your portfolio and copies of certifications. On the other hand, you may not need to do so if you're a fresh graduate with limited work experience. However, it's still important to let them know that you're willing to submit any documents if required. Here’s a sample of what your letter of interest should look like: Julie Garcia | Event ManagerLolita, TX 77971(+361)-399-0453[email protected]linkedin.com/in/juliegarcia May 20th, 2021 Katherine Park | Event ManagerSTAR Media Corp.2415 Retama Dr., Victoria, TX 77901 Dear Ms. Park,My name is Julie Garcia, a freelance event planner with 8+ years of experience. Once you know their goals and working environment, you can prove yourself as a perfect match. Here are some effective ways to learn about the company:Reach out to employees on LinkedIn.Go over old job listings.Check out the company’s website and social media pages.Read threads written by employees on social media. 💡 Focus on your interest motivation.Still remember the difference between an expression of interest vs. a cover letter?Yes, a letter of interest serves as a means for expressing your interest in working for a company. Hence, it should be the main content of your letter. Here are some questions you can ask yourself when demonstrating your interest and motivation:What makes you want to work for the company? (i.e., business model, goals mission, work culture, employee benefits, etc.)What motivates you to pursue a career in this field? 💡 Use power words.Power words like action verbs and positive adjectives are an easy yet effective way to emphasize your impact when describing previous duties and responsibilities. They also help express yourself better and grab the employer's attention.Examples of action verbs in a letter of interest:DemonstrateLeadAccomplishDevelopGenerated Examples of positive adjectives a letter of interest: PassionateDynamicDetail-orientedExceptionalTrustworthy💡 Offer to send your resume. As mentioned earlier, it's optional to attach a resume/CV to your letter of interest. Regardless of your decision, make sure you include a kind reminder about your resume.💡 Politely ask for a meeting or interview.Being proactive in inviting the employer to speak further with you will increase the chances of getting an interview or just a casual talk. Keep in mind to be polite and give them several options so they can pick the one that most suits their schedule. How to Write a Professional Cover LetterIn terms of the cover letter format, it's similar to a letter of interest. You will need to divide it into 3-4 paragraphs and cover the following information. Things you need to put in your cover letter include: Self introduction motivation to applyWhy you are a great fit for the roleExamples of you accomplishments experiencesInvitation to interviewInvitation to read resumeSign offsAttachments1. Self introduction motivation to applyTo start with, you need to introduce your name, your expertise and explain the purpose of this letter. So, it's basically the same when you write a letter of interest.Think of this opening paragraph as a greeting and a tool to impress the employer right away. 2. Why you are a great fit for the roleNext, explain why you think you're an ideal candidate. The hiring manager expects to see additional information that's not mentioned in your resume or CV. Hence, focus on showing what you can contribute to the company and make strong connections between your qualifications and the job requirements. 3. Examples of your accomplishments experiencesIn the body paragraph, it's important to present outstanding accomplishments you've achieved in the field, especially measurable results. This is a great way to prove your capabilities and show that you could be a profitable addition to their company. 4. Invitation to interviewIn the final paragraph, include a CTA (call to action) which shows your desire to be called for an interview. Taking this proactive approach is more likely to land the job interview than if you do not follow up. 5. Invitation to read your resumeBesides asking for an interview, you also need to motivate the hiring manager to read your resume, check out your LinkedIn profile, and/or visit your portfolio. Doing so will help show that you're well-prepared for the job application and willing to provide any further details if needed. 6. Sign offsNow, end your cover letter with a proper closing, followed by your signature. The general rule is using formal sign-offs such as “Sincerely”, “Best”, “Kind regards", etc; and avoiding casual language and tone like “Yours truly", “Cheers,” or "Take care". 7. AttachmentsWhen sending out your cover letter, make sure you also attach a resume/CV and if necessary, your portfolio and other documents. Keep in mind to name your files professionally, like this:“[First name]_[Last name]_[Document name] 🔑 Key Takeaways:Now, you should know the difference between a cover letter and letter of interest, and when to use them. If you are applying for an open job listing, send a cover letter along with your resume. Your cover letter should emphasize the qualifications that make you a great candidate for the job.On the other hand, if you want to show interest in a position or role that is not open for recruitment, send a letter of interest instead. Let us help you land the dream as a writer with a strong resume (free download)!Create ResumeTips for writing the best writer resume✅ Tip 1: Customize every writer resume for the job. Don’t submit the same writer resume for every company. Customizing each writer resume based on different job posting descriptions will enhance your chance to be noticed. ✅ Tip 2: Quantify results on the writer resumes. Determining the quality of articles can be subjective, so using numbers can show how well your writings performed. This is especially true for a content writer resume and a copywriter resume. The hiring manager will expect to see precise results from your experience. ✅ Tip 3: Craft an ATS-friendly writer resume. Before any writer resume is read by a hiring person, it’s likely an applicant tracking system (ATS) will filter out unsuitable ones. ATS determines if your writer resume has the right format, and mimics exact keywords that suit the company’s culture. ✅ Tip 4: Adopt resume action words (verbs). When describing your achievements and results in a writer resume, starting the sentence with a strong verb can make you appear competent and confident. For instance, verbs like “Created”, “Delivered”, “Improved” will make you sound capable. ✅ Tip 5: Organize your writing works across all-platform. Although a writer resume matters quite a lot during a job search, recruiters will still ask for article pieces that you wrote. The best way to present your works is to make sure your articles are organized nicely on your personal blog or previous workplace websites, and provide URL directly for their review. How to write a writer cover letter? In addition to a writer resume, many companies also ask for a cover letter for a writing job. In a writer cover letter, the recruiter will expect to see your strongest achievements and qualification, motivation for application, as well as skills and your understanding of the company. Use this structure below to craft your writer cover letter: Contact details:List your full name, email address, mobile number, and professional links such as LinkedIn, Medium, or personal website on the top of your writer cover letter.Introduction:Start your writer cover letter with simple greetings. Then make a brief introduction about your current status.Make the introduction strong and concise.Motivation (Intention to apply):Clarify the position you are applying for and the motivation for it. Show your understanding and thorough research of the company so they know this writer cover letter is exclusively written for them.Qualification:Showcase your qualifications for the role. List your major writing experience and the biggest clients you have worked for. Don’t hesitate to use bullet points to make the writer cover letter format easier to read.Closing:Add supplementary materials such as mentioning recommendation letters or other skills. Lastly, close the writer cover letter by expressing your gratitude. Don’t forget to call to action: let them know there‘s more to elaborate in an interview. 💡 Tip:Apply "STAR Method" to describe your work experience: situation, task, action, and result, which can attract readers to continue reading on to the writer cover letter.Writer Resume Sample (Text Format)Richard K. Let’s find out in the next steps.🖋 Step 2: Finding the Most Perfect Resume Format for a Managerial Position Have you heard of the three most common resume formatsIf you have forgotten them after few years of working, let’s take a short glimpse of them:Chronological resume: A sequence of experiences from the earliest to the latest, or the latest to the earliest according to their names.Functional: Especially focusing on professional skills and different experiences under the list of the skills written.Hybrid:A combination between chronological and functional format. There would be different sections that could highlight the skills and achievements, but at the same time, showing work experiences in reverse chronological order. It would be totally optional to choose any type of these resumes. However, while writing a manager resume, you are expected to show your longest and latest experience to demonstrate your qualifications. Therefore, a reverse-chronological resume with a bit of functional resume would definitely be recommended to cover both of these needs together. 🖋 Step 3: Identifying Some Different Manager Resume Templates and Examples Searching different manager resume examples would help you find good points you would like to follow on your manager resume, and also avoid mistakes that others have made in their resumes. Finding common parts that people always add in their resumes could be the first step, because they might be the secret to those successful manager resumes! 🖋 Step 4: Tailoring Each and Every Resume for the Specific Manager Position You Want Some of you might want to apply for different managerial divisions, and they may require different types of experiences and achievements. Fill in the information needed according to the job description. For example, if you are writing a senior manager resume, emphasize the years of relevant experiences you have, instead of focusing on your extracurricular experience during college. 🖋 Step 5: Customizing a Manager Cover Letter Every cover letter should be different for each company and job role. As you are expecting to become a manager, your manager cover letter should be tailored in a more professional way. However, remember to keep it short and direct.🖋 Step 6: ProofreadingTo make sure that there is no misspelling in any of your verbs or even titles you own would be a bonus point to make your manager resume look “perfect” in the terms of grammatical and aesthetic appearance! Tip 4: Use Suitable Fonts with Proper Spacing Most HRs would receive hundreds of manager resumes once for an opening, and they only use a couple seconds to read each of them. To make one noticeable, the resume headline must not only be short and bold, but also big and clear.Layouts could vary from one another, but a clear font would make it very easy to be noticed, such as Arial or Cambria, and don’t forget to put a generous white space around it as a higher contrast between the title and background. A cover letter for a business intelligence position is composed of the following sections:Contact information at the beginning of your cover letter. Include your name, professional email and a phone number to make sure that the company would be able to contact you easily.Proper introduction referring to a certain person in charge who might first see your application. “To whom it may concern” is the safest choice, but “To XX Company’s Hiring Manager,” would be more directed and specific.Add reasons why you want to apply for this job and why you are the best fit. Give some specific goals you want to achieve in the hiring company.State the qualifications that go along with these goals. Specify the skills and experience you gained previously that will help you achieve your goals in the new position more effectively. Add a strong closing with a CTA (Call to Action). Created by CakeResumeTABLEOFCONTENTSWhy Are Email Subject Lines Important? How to Write an Email Subject Line When Sending Your Job Application (+Examples)7 Tips for Writing the Best Subject Line for an EmailHow to Write an Email when Sending a CV7Tips for Sending a CV via EmailEmail Templates to Use When Applying for a JobAre you guilty of deleting emails before opening them? If you are, don't be because you're not alone. Many people automatically delete their emails before even reading them, especially if those emails aren't from someone they already know or aren't considered valuable. But"What does that have to do with a job searching process?" you may ask. Well, since many recruiters still receive job applications via email, an eye-catchingWell, many recruiters actually still receive job applications via email unless they specify you to apply through a designated platform. And although job portals provide all the convenience you can imagine—for instance, you can fill out your information once and any recruiters can see it, sending your resume or CV through email is more personal. In this article, we'll show you why writing an interesting and effective email subject when sending a resume/CV is important, how to write an email's subject line when applying for a job with some practical examples. Without further ado, let's jump right in!Why Email Subject Lines Are Important? Most people with a full-time job will have dozens of emails waiting to be opened. Recruiters and hiring managers are no exception. One way to avoid having your CV email application from being tossed into the trash folder is having the appropriate subject line in your application email. When sending your resume/CV, an effective email subject will immediately convey to the recipient that the email content is indeed important for them and that they should read it. What a way to portray a good first impression, right? Aside from that, the email subject line is also a way for you to advertise yourself (and we'll tell you how in a moment). How to Write an Email Subject Line When Sending Your Job Application (+Examples)The importance of having a catchy email subject line when sending a resume/CV isn't only about grabbing the recruiter's attention, it's also about convenience. Here are several factors make recruiters and hiring managers to open your email: 1. Purpose of the email It is important to clearly state the purpose of your email in the subject line. Vague subjects may deter busy recipients from opening your message. You can use keywords such as "Job Application" or "Application for" in the subject line for better communication. Alternatively, you can mention "CV" to signal the content of your email. 2. Position title When applying for jobs, it's important to include the job title in the email subject line. This not only helps the recruiters keep track of the applications, but it also makes it easier for you to manage and search for your applications if you're applying for multiple positions at different companies. Here's an example: Subject: Application for Digital Incubator Venture Lead 3. Job location (if applicable) If you're applying for a vacancy at multinational corporations, who often mention explicitly the job location in the job description, it's advice to include the name of the city or country on the email subject line for clarification. Let's look at the example below: Subject: Application for Digital Incubator Venture Lead_Philippines 4. Position ID (if applicable) Sometimes, big companies that have many job openings will also have a job reference ID number for them to streamline their internal procedure. Omitting the job ID from your email subject line when sending your resume/CV (if they have one) will cause your email to be removed even before they see your CV. Here's an example: Subject: Application for Digital Incubator Venture Lead_Job #554225_Philippines 5. Referral (if applicable) A referral is similar to a recommendation, but it is more like an introduction to the person in charge of hiring. If you already know someone who's working for the company you're applying to, you can reach out to them and ask whether they'd be willing to help to refer you to the recruiter. Let's have a look at the example: Subject: Referred by John Hopkins_Application for Digital Incubator Venture Lead_Job #554225_Philippines 6. Your name You want to approach someone on the other end, that’s why you’re sending your CV by email. So make sure to let them know who you are first. Here's an example: Subject: Sarah Mandela CV_Digital Incubator Venture Lead _Referred by John Hopkins_Job #554225_Philippines💡 Pro Tip: You can also consider mentioning the company's name on the CV email subject, but keep in mind that it should not be overly lengthy. Unless the company has a specific format on how to write a subject for sending CV applications, there is no absolute order for which information should go first. However, it is important to consider what information is the most important, and that information should go first.7 Tips for Writing the Best Subject for an Email 💡 Thoroughly check the instructions when applying via email. When sending your CV to some companies, remember that they may have specific guidelines for email subject line. For instance, consider the following job posting as an example. If there are any similar requirements specified in the job listing, make sure to follow the instructions correctly. 💡 Avoid a long subject line. A clear and concise email subject line when applying for a job application should be between 40-60 characters. Any email subject line that is longer than that would not show fully in the inbox page. Another point to remember is that you want your email subject to be phone screen friendly too, so make sure to keep it short and brief. 💡 Select formal and professional words. It is important to maintain a professional tone of voice when composing an email, especially if it is for a job application. However, certain abbreviations are acceptable to include in your email if they're widely recognized and accepted in the position/industry you're applying for. This can show that you are knowledgeable in the field and understand the industry-specific language. Just be sure to use them appropriately and sparingly, as overuse can make your email appear unprofessional. 💡 Utilize punctuations. Choose one type of punctuation such as hyphen (-), low dash (_), or colon (;) to separate different types of CV mail subject information and use it consistently, for example: Jeremy Borne CV - Application for Product Manager - Job #12345 - New JerseyReferral from Poppy Bloom: Lina Lin, CV for Stylist Assistant Position at Sheina StyleApplication_Web Developer at IX Tech_Job Posting #0000_CV Attached 💡 Add a personal touch. Remember what we do when we receive an email that looks like from bots or sounds like bot? We delete it without a second thought. To prevent this from happening to your job application emails, make sure to add a little bit of personal touch (where applicable). 💡 Always send using a professional email address. When sending your CV via email, it's important to use an appropriate email address that the receiver can easily recognize. If you haven't had it already, consider create an email address that includes your full name, or at least part of it, and avoid using numbers or childhood nicknames that may not be recognizable. Professional Email Address Examples:[email protected]@[email protected] Unprofessional Email Address examples:[email protected]@[email protected] 💡 Go over and proofread the job applicationemail subject line. Make sure that there is no spelling or grammar mistake, and that your email subject for sending your CV matches the content of the email. It's important to spell the company's name correctly and ensure there are no spelling or grammar mistakes. How to Write an Email for Sending a CV Now that you have your resume/CV, you've read the job description, and are ready to compose your email. The next step is to actually write an email that attracts recruiters and convince them to give you a phone call. Here are four simple steps to follow: Write an Effective Email Subject Line Again, this is highly important as it determines whether or not the recruiter will open your email. Make sure to follow the subject line format as above. Compose the Message Content Start by warmly greeting the recruiter or hiring manager by name (if possible). Then introduce yourself briefly and let them know your intention when sending the email In the second paragraph of your email, write a short sentence inform the recipient that you have attached your CV and cover letter files. If the company does not require a cover letter, you may include a brief version of it in the email body, keeping it concise and limited to 2-3 paragraphs. Close Your Email Professionally If your application email subject line creates the first impression, the closing sign offs are just as important as it leaves a lasting impression. Always express gratitude for their time and consider including an invitation to meet and discuss in person. Even better, you can show enthusiasm for the job by telling the recruiters that you are always open for an interview. Include your personal contact details after your professional email signature. Make sure that they clearly know who you are and how to reach you. Here's an example: Best regards,Damian Franz +99-6565-1234[email protected] 📚 Further reading: What to Write in an Email when Sending a Resume [+Examples Tips] 7 Tips for Sending a Resume/CVvia EmailBelow are some more tips to make sure your email for sending CV is crafted to perfection: ✨ Pay attention to the requested file type. Each employer has their own preferred method of reviewing applications because perhaps their system only accommodates certain file types. If they require you to provide a PDF, don't attach a Word file (.docx or .doc), follow instructions given.💡Pro Tip: If no specific file types are specified in the requirements, always send a PDF file to avoid formatting errors. Alternatively, you can send the link to a digital CV. ✨ CV and cover letter files should be named correctly. Name these two files as clearly and short as possible to avoid confusion, e.g. "Mitch Anders-CV.pdf" and "Mitch Anders-Cover Letter.pdf". You can also use punctuations to separate information here.💡Pro Tip: Unless you are specifically required to attach your cover letter as a separate document, your cover letter more often becomes the content of your email. Make sure to check the requirements again. ✨ Aim for 3-5 sentences per paragraph. Keeping the paragraph short and concise can help recipients who open their mails on mobile device have a better reading experience. ✨ Mention that your resume orCV is attached in the email (and don't forget to attach the file). Different email providers have different layouts and ways to display their email content. It's advisable to inform the recipient about the attached document. ✨ Invite them to meet in person. Be respectful and cordial in your invitation; before closing your email, a simple "I'm looking forward to your reply and will be glad to meet for further discussion" is always nice to have. ✨ Use a professional email signature to sign off your email. Email signature is more than just for branding purposes. It provides ease for people to find you and know who you are professionally. The essential aspects of a professional email signature are:Full nameProfessional titleCompany name (if any)Phone numberEmail address Meanwhile, you could also include some of these optional elements:(Professional) social media linksCompany or personal logoPhoto (headshot)Disclaimer ✨ Include links to your personal portfolio website in your job application email. This includes LinkedIn, GitHub, online portfolio, and others that are relevant to your profession. This allows recruiters to see you beyond the resume or CV that you provide.Email Templates to UseIf you're having trouble writing an email to send your resume, don't worry! Tips on How to Write a Summary in a CVAs you begin writing a career summary for your CV, here are some useful tips to follow through: 💡 Write only 3-5 sentences. The goal of the CV summary is for the hiring manager to glance quickly. Therefore, a solid and concise CV summary will always beat a long and unimpressive one. 💡 Use numbers and details.Take some time to look back on your work. Calculate the result with percentages, dollar amounts, time span, and so on. Including metrics and data in your CV summary will make your achievement more persuasive.💡 Pro Tip: This is why it is always important to keep track of your performance at work. However, if you do not have your hand on the necessary data, ask your supervisor or colleagues, or do a self-assessment. 💡 Keep it relevant to the job. Before taking any action, read closely through the job posting ad. Remember, the hiring manager is not looking for someone competent, but someone who is competent for the job role. When writing your CV summary, always relate your work experience with the desired job description. It will surely make your CV summary attractive in the eyes of the hiring manager. 💡 Omit personal pronouns (e.g., I) in the CV summary.Writing in personal pronouns may make a CV look a bit childish. After all, if it isn’t you, who else could it be? Instead, try to start your CV summary with a sentence starting with an impressive and impactful adjective. 💡 Include other relevant experience if you have limited relevant professional experience. Writing a CV summary with no experience can be a headache for freshers or junior applicants. Most recent graduates or students don’t have enough professional experience to even summarize into an introduction. However, you can dig into other related experiences and add in your CV summary to seize attention. For example:School projects/coursesVolunteer experienceFreelance workPersonal projectsInternshipsHobbies interestsGPA degree (for students/recent graduates) These are all valuable experiences where you can surely seek relevant material to put in your professional summary on a CV. 15 Resume Summary ExamplesOutline:CV Professional Summary for FreshersCV Summary with No ExperienceCV Summary Examples for StudentsExecutive CV SummaryTeaching CV Professional SummaryCustomer Service CV SummaryProject Manager Professional Summary for CVAccountant CV SummaryCareer Changer Summary Statement ExampleNurse Professional Summary ExampleProfessional Summary Examples for Sales CVCareer Summary for NGO JobIT Professional Summary ExampleHR Professional Summary ExampleData Entry CV Summary Example CV Professional Summary for Freshers“Hard-working and creative design graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology with a GPA of 3.9 seeking an entry UX designer role in Rene Inc. to optimize usability.
