Father Horacio Medina - Priest with Archdiocese of Newark

Father Horacio Medina has served as a Roman Catholic priest with the Archdiocese of Newark in New Jersey since 1998. In addition to his activities as a member of the clergy, Father Horacio Medina has worked for Maverick Building Services, also in Newark, as a human resources manager since 2012. He has also served the company as a shop steward and foreman of the morning crew.

Father Medina studied philosophy and humanities at Seminario San Clemente in San Jose, and then earned his master in theology and sacred Bible from Central American University in San Salvador. He continued his education at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras, earning a journalism degree. He has also completed moral theology and mental health first aid programs with Scuola Alfonsiana in Rome and Newark’s National Council for Mental Wellbeing, respectively.

Father Medina is a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He is also an organizer with Local Union 32BJ. His personal interests range from reading Shakespeare to staying physically active through volleyball and ping pong.
