A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Frank Bellanger III is the CEO and founder of Starfish Recovery & Wellness, which uses a variety of techniques to address his clients’ recovery challenges. Frank Bellanger III’s staff uses twelve-step methods and holistic practices, such as story work, in which residents process traumatic experiences through controlled breathing and positive self-talk. Starfish also uses mindfulness practices, such as yoga.
Before launching his company in 2020, Mr. Bellanger was a volunteer coordinator and facilitator with prison outreach programs of the McShin Foundation, a Richmond-based treatment center. He went on to become the organization’s drug screening and medication manager, scheduling screenings and observing the dispensing of medication.
Mr. Bellanger is also a certified Recovery Coach Trainer and Forensic Peer Support Specialist through NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. In addition, he has brought millions of dollar in assistance for people addicted to opioids through a class action lawsuit against opioid manufacturers, and presented at an industry best practices conference. In his leisure time he enjoys playing sports with his son and following the Philadelphia Eagles.
