Hy Safran is a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for the Jewish community in Greater Detroit. Since 2015, he has served as the Director of Philanthropy at the Jewish Federation and United Jewish Foundation, where he has been instrumental in fostering relationships, encouraging philanthropy, and developing initiatives that support the long-term growth and vitality of the community. Before joining the Federation, Hy built an impressive career in national leadership. He served as the national constituency director for President Barack Obama, managing relationships with key stakeholders across the country. He later took on the role of chief director of strategic affairs in the U.S. Senate, where he provided strategic guidance on important national issues. These experiences have equipped Hy with the skills and insights needed to lead with purpose and impact in his current role.

Hy Safran is also deeply committed to community involvement.
