Mike Rose Miramonte

Michael “Mike” Rose is a longtime teacher who taught social science for 7 years at Miramonte High School in Northern California. Working within the Acalanes Union High School District, he instructed students from communities such as Orinda and Moraga. Responsible for the Law and Society curriculum and its honors counterpart, Mike Rose expanded Miramonte’s law program from less than two dozen students to more than 200.

Another focus of Mr. Rose as a teacher was implementing common core standards and cross-curricular collaboration within specific departments. He also launched a model UN team that simulates the UN General Assembly and has students take on ambassador roles while debating current issues. The team earned a top 20 global ranking while competing on an international stage.

Passionate about sports, Michael Rose has also produced journalism with Fan Sided in Oakland, delivering content related to basketball games played by the St. Mary's College Gaels. His work has also been published by Golden Gate Sports and Sports Illustrated online.
