Hello, I am PoChun (PC), a Ph.D. graduate from the Computer Science Information Engineering (CSIE) department at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST). My research area is video compression, focusing on H.264/HEVC.
My career began at HTC, where I worked on the video team handling tasks ranging from Android’s hardware abstraction layer (HAL) to firmware and kernel development.
At Catchplay, I developed video watermark algorithms and maintained the OTT transcoding system.
While at Realtek, I developed firmware for set-top boxes, focusing on H.264 and HEVC, and verified vendor IP in FPGA.
I then joined Apple Inc. as a Software Program Lead (SPL), primarily responsible for RunIn hardware tests, failure analysis, issue resolution, and cross-team communication.
After returning to Taiwan, I worked at ViewSonic, developing the ViewDirector product. I was responsible for various modules, including RTSP streaming, screen capture, window capture, webcam, and establishing a WebRTC video conference system, as well as pushing video streaming to YouTube and Facebook.
Currently, I am at Advantech, developing capture card products, assisting with DirectShow video and audio drivers, and ensuring drivers pass Microsoft WHQL certification.
