Based in Southbury, CT, Timothy Leonard is an assistant professor of academic literacy and linguistics at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City. In this role, he teaches multiple courses and develops lessons designed to engage a diverse student population. In addition to his work as an educator, Timothy Leonard is the founder of ConnArtists Concerts, which curates live music events in unique venues throughout CT such as the Woodbury Brewing Company and The Silo. He maintains responsibility for contract negotiation, show logistics, and promotion. Additionally, he acts as a consultant for Woodbury Brewing, helping with social media development and event promotion and planning.
Mr. Leonard holds an EdD in instructional leadership with a concentration on curriculum and instruction from Western Connecticut State University. His doctoral dissertation was on the effects of reading and discussing poetry on students’ motivation to read and on their vocabulary development. He spent 10 years as an adjunct instructor of education and literacy education at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, and also served as assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at Somers Middle School in Somers, NY.
