Toni Brand, PhD, began her higher education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated with distinction and high honors in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. Toni Brand later pursued a PhD in cellular and molecular pathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, after which she became a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, San Francisco, in the Department of Otolaryngology- head and neck surgery.
Since 2011, Toni Brand has worked in both the laboratory and the classroom, as a science teacher and tutor, adjunct lecturer, biotechnology teacher, and teaching assistant. She currently serves as a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher at Mount Tamalpais School in Mill Valley, California, where she teaches chemical, physical, and biological sciences.
Ms. Brand has achieved several honors and awards and earned professional membership in various associations during her teaching career. For instance, she achieved the EnCorps Teaching Fellowship for STEM Professionals award and memberships in the American Association for Chemistry Teachers and the National Science Teaching Association.
